There's an extra cracked pot in Bonny Village across the broken bridge, in another burned structure and at the back of a hill. 2 more Greater Potentates (Butchers) roam and YES they can jump on top of that elongated building. There's also an emote on a tree even father back and something very interesting to the left of that secluded in the foliage. So there might be 10 hefty pots or more in the game. I'm going very slow like I did in he base game

Also, if you complete the Jar Bairn quest you could use the COMPANION JAR talisman to get a 20% more damage on the pots.

There is also the Greatjar Helm, which increase throwing pot damage by 16%.

The golem from 8:54 can be easily taken down from the bridge. When it starts to attack you, move back to the last site of grace and wait eventually he will fall to his death.

I was on a call with family that took like an hour. While on the call, I was half paying attention to fire bro and the whole time I just sat back and watched him cast over and over. Fire bro would kneel and never reach me with his shot. I even steered him back and forth across the edge of the little waterfall and he didn't ever fall. Maybe you got lucky and he decided randomly to take that extra step ( off ). Then off the call I got the boss down in like 5mins with the strat in the video.

I mean this in the best way possible: This video reminds me of old school KZread guides! Great job! :D

That's why it's worth every cent. There's more content in this DLC than most AAA games that have been in development for upwards of 4 to 5 years. Of course they had a great foundation to work with the base game heading into the dlc, but they still went above and beyond to bring that much more content for completely new builds to make the replay value even higher

You can just buy mushrooms if you find the mushroom bell bearing. Much easier to buy them than to farm. For the Ember of Messmer there's one on the road direct west (left on the map) of the Moorn Ruins grace. Don't know if it's closer, but it's right there and you don't have to run around obstacles or inside a tent. Just run to the road, grab it and run back in a straight shot.

@@PhillyBeatzGames there's 2 I found so far. One is on the way to cerulean coast. Past the river grace you get halfway through the river. Going down, you'll see a stone pillar/bridge on its side. Jump on it and look at the waterfall. You'll see a pot hanging there. Shoot it with an arrow (or use a shakle which also works on the stones blocking the spirit spring jumps) and get the item that drops. The other one is the opposite way down the river (the same way you get the 2 headed turtle talisman). If you go left before where the crabs are and keep going until you reach the cliff edge it's right there, hanging on a wall. Just look around and you should see it. There's also one that gives you string now. It's around Prospect Town. I suspect there are more, but those are the only 3 I found.

In Belurat Goal I actually found 3 hefty pots!!! There’s 2 in that room you mention here and one more in a chest when you fall down that center hole from hanging pot to hanging pot. Descend slowly cuz it’s easy to miss but if you do miss simply start at the beginning of the cave cave again 👍

3:43 north of the Moorth Highway, south sight of grace. There are 6 that can be found in the ashes. Only down side is that you’ll have to kill or avoid the undead dragon

I equipped the pots and called my mimic after getting in position once I woke the golem up, then it did it for me. Apparently the mimic will do it for you without you having to use your pots, as long as you already have some made and equipped.

There's 2 more hefty cracked pots, one is by the church on top of the entrance into the dlc and another is on the cliffs jumping down the mountain before the fire guy into cerulean coast, they are both hanging from a rope, you just have to shoot them down with a bow

You're referring to bell bearings, not Hefty Cracked Pots. There are 10 in total, he missed 2 is Belurat Goal.

9:20 Tip: Turn right and use Margit/Mohg's Shackle to activate Spirit Spring. It allows you to get above the Furnace Golem without having to go all the way to the top.😉

nice also would wearing the big pot head piece and having the pot talisman reduce the amount of pots needed to nuke the furnaces?

The large volcanic pot also works for hunting the furnace golems, and they have a d.o.t. effect on them, downside is you need gas stones.

if you really want to trivialize these things just use the spiral glintsone spell, it completely cripples them and is spammable, alternatively you can also use pest threads/spears. if youre throwing pots just use the furnace pots as they basically take 1/3 of their health.

I feel like Moorth ruins has a better ember grinding spot! Just near the site of grace there is a mounted black knight patrolling. Along the road he’s on there can be found like two or three embers so if you sprint by on torrent and back to the site you should be able to grab them without much fear of the black knight

Glad to see that you can deal with these golems in an easier and more efficient way that still requires effort but is actually more fun than trying to fight these things "normally". What's more resources to make the pots aren't a problem to find. For the better pots you can get easy 3 or something furnace visages if you bring the Grandma scorpion soup(the one in the Belurat village) to the Hornsent follower of Miquela(dude with bandages on his head). He will give you several visages as thanks. To unlock the soup you need to speak with Grandma while wearing the Dancing Lion head. Do it multiple times until she gives you the soup. You can get another soup if you use it/give away from her as well. As long as she lives you can get them.

More efficient? Obviously none of the golems went ultra instant the second you pressed throw and obviously you didn’t have to learn there only x amount of furnace visages locking you out of whatever rewards the golem holds

@@DanielMurray-mi7zr Well I waited with any ng+ for the DLC so I'm not going to face that problem but yeah, dmg scaling seems to be borked if even 8 pots is not enough. Better wait for a patch before blowing through all the pots.

You can get 3 furnace visages from hornsent if you bring him a scorpion stew from the old lady in belurat, though you do have to do this before miquella's seal breaks.

For the ember of messmer you can farm those pretty quick from the shadowy people at the storage site of grace in the dark hold. They drop every 2nd. Or 3rd mob for me with the silver scarab equipped

1:26 I've farmed this spot extensively and the Pyreflies DON'T reset unless you die. Tip: From the Castle Front Grace, head northwest and circle the camp counter-clockwise, walking off the edge after collecting the last Pyreflies. The loop allows you to collect 9 Pyreflies and 3 Redflesh Mushrooms before retrieving your runes and dying to reset.

spot for the Embers uhh, cant think of the grace off the top of my head but its the grace that has the 3 Black Knights around a camp and another ruin. Oh! Where you fight the first duel with the Martial Arts Master dude too! There are... 2 or 3 (again I dont remember for sure) along the road one of the Black Knights patrols

Not sure if it's better but I farm the messemer things outside the "shadow keep main gate" sight of grace, If the walking volcano isn't there, and if it is once you get close to the camp it starts to walk away so you don't even need to deal with it. Plus you get like 6 in one rotation

I had to struggle with the first ones, especially the one at charos hidden grave site, he set the hill aflame before I could throw even one pot..than I learned to fight them, and was no longer a problem..the 2 armored I threw hefty furnace in and they died within ( maybe was 2 but not wanting to fail I threw another for an overkill).. if you struggle with it, try to excercise with the cheaper fire pots first.. when you are comfortable with the situation, use the furnace ones… the other where you slash, just take time , let him do his attacks, jump over them, repeat

There is also an easy to get Hefty Pot near the Prospect Village hanging off the side of the cliff, in the little valley to the north west side of it.

1:42 there's actually a bell bearing that contain mushrooms and redflesh in the river bank locations

Right to the entrance of Shadow Keep where destroyed golems laying down and you can find Furnace Keeper's Note with info how to destroy them I found that mobs there drops Visage. At least they did it for me once. So probably worth to check it if you can farm enough Visages.

Death Poker+CrimsonWhorl tear got me through every unarmoured FG no problem.

i used this method to kill the first golem: from the other side of the bridge go up. And call its attention with a greatbow.

Two things: I think that the location behind castle ensis is a much better location for farming messmer embers (highroads cross site of grace). I also think that streamers should always warn players about going to or in the Shadow Keep, because they may want to preserve the P1 of their summons, since going near the Keep will trigger the NPCs to change behavior/moments.

From the Moorth ruins grace on the way to Fort of Reprimand, you can find several ember of messmer.

Are the visages at 4;20 actually farmable (meaning they respawn) as you claim in the chapter/timestamp name or one-time pick up?

Furnace golems were a paun until i figured out a method of fighting them: borderline heavy roll armor defensive talasmans and physic and focus 95% on when the stomps are coming while mashing heavy attack. Youll get it eventually and it cant hurt you much in return! As expected i havent started on the armored ones yet lol.

@@umarthdc its... actually easier to just use the defensive physic and some talasmins. The fire stomps dont hurt much if you mistime the leap. You still want to dodge but this way you can focus on actually fighting instead of making sure you pull out torrent. The golems will die VERY quickly after so you dont have to worry about much. The double stomp is still real dangerous though.

Easiest way I found to take them out is using the spark aromatic with the rolling AoW. Stack fire defense (armor, protection spells, liver and talismans), get a +24 stone shield and put no skill on it set to fire which gives it 100% fire block. Then just run to it's feet and spam the AoW at the ground. It staggers incredibly fast (4-5 casts causes a stagger) plus deals a lot of damage. When it falls, swap to a Misericorde and hit the crit. It was dead then. No need for a second stagger. Took 1 minutes to take it down. I spent more time killing the enemies around it (the one in front of Shadow keep) than actually killing it. It's a stupid OP build and feels cheesy, so I wouldn't use it on regular bosses (I say this now, but haven't fought the last boss yet), but I hate these walking 🔥 🗑️ . They're not fun to fight regularly (the ones you toss fire pots in are fun), they take forever to bring down and some are in terrible areas surrounded by mobs. I don't feel bad at all cheesing them.

I beat most of these things without pots. Absolute pain and now I feel like a moron lol. Good to know there is a better way for my next playthrough

Be Careful using up all your Furnace Visage's (I think there are 40 in the whole game) as a few are needed for a secret area late on.

Well I don't know if it's a better spot but you can kill the NPCs in shadow castle to get Messmer's ember from them as well. It should be any creature that uses his flame.

I was just about to try using hefty ice pots on the armor golems. Then I saw this video.

the encampment attacked by the undead dragon has a lot of embers of messmer, even though it's not as close to a grace it may be a much better location to farm them. also, the weak enemies in the specimen storehouse (the ones that can cast the fire spell at least) drop them quite often, so they might be an even better source, I don't know. P.S. the cracked hefty pots are 10, not 8.

Just a heads up, there are actually two heft cracked pots in the Belurat Gaol jar maze room.

The golem at the Ruins of Unte doesn't have armored legs, so you can still beat him by attacking the legs with non-pot methods, since the fire pots don't do anything to his legs.

Comet azure uses a physick that stops fp consumption. Wonder what viridian tear will do with warrior builds??

If you're playing an intelligence build you can beat the unarmored ones quite easily with adula's moonblade from horseback.

seen unconfirmed stuff about farming furnace visages as a rare drop from soldiers in umbra altus, havent tried it myself but being able to actually get unlimited visages would make it... a lot easier. it's really frustrating when you run out.

I think there should be 10 pots (that's the limit you have and in base game you could find 20 cracked and 10 ritual pots). I found 2 (or maybe 3) in the first Gaol you mentioned below Belurat (as well as the giant pot head which increases their damage).

@@PhillyBeatzGames yeah the 2 you are missing are in belurat gaol. there is another near the one you mention in video, and the other is when you are jumping down the pots on maybe 3rd or 4th one if you look beside you there is a platform with chest.

How on earth is 3 pots enough to kill the golem at Charo’s hidden grave? I hit it with 6 and it was only at half health. Was this video filmed at scadutree blessing 20 or something?

Just north of the moorrh ruins grace there are 3* respawning messmer ember in the camp and on the road

13:25 If you do the cheese to use Torrent to jump over back wall to get Sword of Darkness you get locked out from activating Golem. I guess dropping down inside makes game think you already activated it. My pots won’t wake it up. Just FYI.

I can't seem to hold more than two Hefty furnace pots or Fire pots? I can't even send them into my storage, only a maximum of two. What am I missing here?

Lightning perfume and rolling sparks. Hitting legs should never be a struggle. We have the tools.

Been havinb a blast destroying them with star fists. It staggers them super fast and i can wail at their heads for ~30k dmg before doing the crit

Spiral shard sorcery simple and effective when they fall critical attack.

Here's any easy way to take them down: 1. Get behind their legs 2. Get Relanna's Twin Moons spell and cast it right before they stomp their single foot 3. Should stagger them in 2-3 casts GLHF

To the west of the moorth ruins grace there is a small messmer military camp that has 4 or 5 messmers embers. Also, in my game the furnace golem at charo's hidden grave just spams the eruption attack and i cant even get close enough to kill it before i get burned alive. I can go up to the large grave stone above it on the plateau and quit out and as soon as i load back in, its already winding up an eruption. Very annoying.

there is a spot with 3-4 embers of mesmer really close to each other, it's a camp

Belurat gaol has 3 hefty cracked pots You missed 2 one in the same erea shown in the video, and the other in a chest when you drop down in the pit on the hanged jars there is a legde with a chest.

Also wear the pot head and talisman. Took down furnace golem with three hefty furnace pots.

3 Hefty pots is all it took without pot head or talismans

After I the sky golem cooked me 2 days ago I decided to hunt them all

I found a decent amount of those embers along the trail leading from the Castle of Reprimand. I'm sure i wasted a couple of hefty pots before seeing this video, unfortunately.

You can throw the pots while on horseback.

There are mushroom bell bearings in pots hanging that you wouldn't even notice. I did tho.

Rip I didn’t know you could do that. I used magic to attack its face and run around their feet until it died. At least for the armoured ones.

i mean you can use em, go fight some enemies you have a vendetta against. Then go and craft fire and furnace hefties to knock these golems out

Yess, the trick is to wait on the ground with some distance, until he starts swirrling, and fire spitting. Run a bit around at the ground and in the middle of the homing missle attack jump on the hill, get off the horse and throw a pot. The time window is quite short.

What happened if you have no pots what do you do?
