How to Name Chemicals Made Easy
How do you name a chemical? How do you figure out the formula of a compound? This short tutorial will answer both of those questions for simple ionic compounds, binary covalent compounds, and multivalent ionic compounds (ionic compounds that contain a transition metal ion or some other heavy metal ion that can have more than one possible change).

This is unreal. As someone who struggles with science this was a great summary video. It categorizes the naming and lays out the rules in a very simple manner. Thank you!!!
I legit read my chem textbook and took notes for 4 hours and still didn't understand the steps in the book. Came here and learned everything in 11 mins and 48 seconds... I hate the lack of teaching in online courses...

There’s a difference between a lack of teaching and connecting with everyone. Not everyone learns the same way. Give the system a little bit of credit when they’re trying to teach 40+ different learning types. Glad this video was good for u, but it may not be the same for someone else

I don't know how to express my feelings, thank u sooo much you are soo helpful. I hope you an excellent life. I really want you to upload the video about the polyatomic ions or organic compounds soon enough, because I really need it soon. Again Thanks
Thank you so much. This was a very clear video and you explained it better than any of my science teachers. Very helpful for my upcoming exam
this is my 3 week lesson in just one video thank you so much
Chemistry has never been this easy for me. I have found the best channel for Chemistry on youtube!
Wow your videos are one of the simplest but most comprehensive discussion that I have watched. Thank you so much! It really helped me recall the basics of chemistry.
thank you this was so incredibly helpful. i learnt 10x more in this 12 minute video than in class. i really appreciate the simple steps, colour cordination, and practices you out into your video ❤❤
This lesson is so much BETTER than the lesson at school. Your better than the educators at school. I'm so grateful for your teaching skills and your education layout. Thank you so so so much!
Wow, this was ten times more complicated than I expected, but you taught it so well I picked it up really fast, thx so much!
You are phenomenal!!! You have made me happy, I am now confident, I will rock my Chem 2A class. Thank you!

What about polyatomic compounds
Thanks so much for this, this is more vivid than what is taught in some schools
Made it so easy to understand, even as a beginner. You rock!!
Bro, you are my lifesaver for my chem exam!
That's an awesome explanation! Thanks a lot :)
This is such an awesome video I've been struggling with this for months thank you so much I finally understand
Really thank you so much I was having troubles with understanding chemical reactions in class because our teacher didn't even clear the basics to us so I was trying to find a lecture which would focus on forming and naming compounds and now I got it!! Thank you once again!

literally amazing
I made an amazing summary with everything in detaile thanks to you...You did a great job.👍👍👍
Thank you So much. This is Wonderful.
Thank you so much, you learnt me alot! I'm so grateful for this knowledge I've learnt!
Amazing break down thank you so much
I love your videos so much. Could you make videos about substitution and elimination reactions. Also NMR and identifying compounds by their spectrum. Thank you
You have helped me alot sir,,may God bless you for the work you are doing❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
GOD BLESS YOU!!! dude for real this is so helpful!
u just helped me so much bro, was struggling with chemistry but now i think i can do well defo subbing
Crystal clear💎, awesome👌, pakka explanation 👍
UNDERRATED. Thank you so much, buddy!
This video helped me understand naming chemical formulas. TYSM
Thanks! This helped a lot. This is the topic we are currently learning about in my honors chemistry class and the way me teacher is teaching it is making no sense at all. This finally cleared up all of my confusion.
Very nice explanation.. Thanks..for this....
Thank you
thank you. It was really helpful!!
Thanks dude! I am easily able to name compounds! Really helpful!
very clear, thx!
thank you so mush it,s easy too anyone to understand this
best one, thank you
Thank you sir u are a life saver
Fantabulous video❤️❤️❤️❤️🎉
Awesome video
im doing science ten in four weeks for summer school. this helped me so much
Thanks a ton❤
Loved it🔥. Can you pls make one about dissociation and ionization
Thanks so much I understood everything at first. Well explained 👏
Please make more videos. It's really helpful! Thank you so much.

You really helped me out Thank you 😊
you got to be kidding me, this video was just extremely helpful
Hi I've watch all of your videos and thank you because you help me a lot on learning all of your chemistry lessons!! I suggest that your next video would be about Molecular geometry, VSEPR and Intramolecular and Intermolecular forces :))

next video about molecular geometry is in the works, probably published in 2 weeks. IMF will be later.
GOATed, keep goin!! Super helpful
Excellent, I have no interest in chemistry and thought chemistry is a difficult task but after this, I would change my mind.
i guess i learned more in this video compared to the one year online classes I took :)
cant believe the best lessons that we get are for free !!!!!!!!! better than university teaching huhu
Very very thanks
super helpful
Really helpful 😊 Love from India❤️🇮🇳
That's was useful. I liked video.
Thank you so muchhh dudee❤
very very very helpful
hey i really like how you explain things in this video . but can you do more videos explaining how to name compounds that involve transition metals .
@ketzbook Can you please post the link fort the tutorial for polyatomic ions? You have the perfect way to explain things - this video helped me so I can help my son. Thank you.

hi have you made the polyatomic ions or organic compounds naming video ? can't seem to find it somehow
God Bless Fr 1
LI3N- LITHIUM NITRIDE CCL4-- CARBON TETRACHLORIDE
where is the follow up for this video but with polyatomic ions and organic compounds. It would be very helpful
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much. God bless you. Continue to use God's gift to you Thank you so much😢😢😊😊💖💖💖💖
Hi! You had a really great polyatomic ions matching game on your site. It has since been removed. I was wondering if it is still available and if there is some way for me to access it. Thank you!
On the periodic table Mn isn’t shown as a transition metal?
How in the world do I remember what element is what off the top of my head during a test or something? Like earth metal, alkali metal, transition metal, nonmetal 😧 halogenic, etc!
@hatimtariq8712

Just go through IUPAC nomenclature and remember the basic table + general formula
What indicates that a binary compound is ionic or covalent? Maybe I am missing something. Will watch this many times.
@ketzbook

typically, ionic = metal + non-metal covalent = all non-metals (or metalloids) there are some exceptions
Thx dudeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

How to name compound in its classical name?
i spent a month learning this and failed every quiz. I studied for weeks ahead for my test on it and failed. probably my fault, but its insane that i couldve watched this video and learned it in ten minutes and passed the test.
Where's the polyatomic and organic naming video :(
ㅋ😆최고 재미있다 근대 조금만 천천히 말해주새요.
He wrote Bai in the end of the vid 😂
Can you upload it in Urdu😊plz .it's became more helpful for those who didn't understand english.

How is aluminum oxide, Al2O3 not Al3O2? Please anaswer im dumb
@ketzbook

rewatch that part. The charges need to balance. Two aluminums = 2 x +3 = +6 charge. Three oxygens = 3 x -2 = -6 charge, balanced!

I know, I'm a bit fast. You can try changing the speed to say 0.75x, which is easy in youtube (see gear icon). Or, you can just pause where you like. You can also get the video speed controller extension, which is super useful as it allows you to change the speed of any video and adjust to speeds like 0.8x or 0.9x. I watch most videos at 1.5x speed ;)

This is so terribly difficult.
MnO2, isn't O2 is peroxide which has a -2 charge ?
