How To Monster Hunter

Ойындар

Welcome to Monster Hunter World Iceborne: where every meal is a steak, every weapon is the size of Madagascar and every hitbox is somehow more jank than the last. The tutorial is 1000 hours long. Good luck. And before you comment, the song is called ''Nay! The honor is all ours''

That feeling when the monster you been struggling with starts limping. The Rush, its amazing. The moment Kirirn limped the first time, i went from: "Please god, don't cart me again. I used so many potions. I dont want to restart the Quest." immediately to: "WERE ARE YOU GOING, BITCH!?" "THERE MAY COME A DAY FOR MERCY. TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY!"

That feeling where you realise that this thing is not immortal, and you can, and will beat it. 5:21 - 7:32 THIS. I started backing with MHFU (2nd Generation), and I kept coming back again and again. Because this is the core of Monster Hunter. You don't kill Monsters, nor do you defeat them, you HUNT them. Learning their move-set, their weakness, their habits; setting up your traps, or prepping for a hunt, or making a better build; being rewarded for new Equipment you earned, or a skillset you honed to perfection, or knowledge about the Monster. You are the Hunter, and you are what makes this came so perfect; it's rare for a game to have this level of perfection and engagement in its Gameplay (Witcher 3 is the closest I've gotten).

I keep coming back to watch this on occasion because it really encapsulates the feeling of playing monster hunter. I remember when I started playing 3 Ultimate, I didn't even know that Longsword had moves that used the Spirit Gauge for like, 10 hours at least. And now here I am having played for multiple thousands of hours across multiple monster hunter games, having used every weapon to some level of success, understanding the skill system and making mixed sets even as I progress through the game, ready to squeeze out all the potential out of the armor I can craft as I tackle all the challenges the games throw at me. The love of monster hunter is loving the challenge, and this video represents it so well for me. Plus I still love the 2 bits of "And then you fight a funny monkey! :D" and "Oh this fight is fucking terrible!" (or whatever the exact phrasing was with Lavasioth)

This game made me fall in love with the Monster Hunter franchise. And honestly one of the very few games I can say I'm *good* at, even my MH veteran friends agree. Here's the kicker though: *I've only played on mouse and keyboard* Honestly I'm not sure how I've managed since apparently 99% of people agree it's controller or bust and suffer eternally lol

Lunk Except that without evade window 3+ that won’t work because Monster Hunter roll I-frames are significantly lower than Dark Souls’ That, and that because of this most of Alatreon’s attacks’ hitboxes last longer than your I-frames, so you’ll get hit anyway (of course unless you have evade window 3).

2:17 describes exactly how I feel with charge blade. I just picked up the game last week and love to play as a paladin-like character. I suck at memorizing, so when I looked up how to do it and got bombarded with info, I knew that the large wooden pole in the training room was going to be my best friend for a while.

The chargeblade bit is so real. I picked up this game on a whim bc it was on sale, with absolutely 0 idea what the game was about, and chose to main chargeblade bc it looked cool. I played probably 80 hours before I realized you could charge up the sword and shield 🙃🙃🙃

This game is really good at making you feel that you are bad at everything. I'm 40 hours in and barely know how to use 2 of the weapons. I learned how to (mostly) use chargeblade by figuring out what buttons i need to spam in order to do damage, used dual blades and realized that I'm not satisfied with my ability to do damage with them, and I'm in the process of adopting the bow and longsword, but the longsword's attacks are too complex for my smooth brain to understand and i need to know how to use a bow as I am tired of trying to reach flying monsters with my chargeblade. Although it is satisfying that the more you die, the better you become at not dying to each particular monster. Maybe after 300 hours I could even be good at the game.

@@marcinmisiek768 you should pick a weapon class and stick to it longer. chargeblade does have tools to deal with flying enemies you just need to find them. Personally I used switchaxe for entire story and iceborne and a bit beyond, all the way through, with no other weapon. There's no need to hotswap, focus on mastery over versatility.
