During the week spray your hair with warm water before moisturizing and oiling. The warm water helps the hairs cuticles to open and allow moisture in. Applying products to closed cuticle will cause breakage and eventually lead to chronic dryness.
I Moisturize my hair 1x to 2x per week. Everyone's hair is different so what works for you.
Most LP ladies prefer the LCO method vs LOC method, but use whatever method that works for you.
Products Used:
Water ( H2O)
Shea Moisture Low Porosity Protein Free Leave In Detangler
Shea Moisture Extra Moisture Transitioning Milk
Jojoba Oil

I am so glad
I have low porosity and fine strands. I warmed water sprayed my hair, moisturized and sealed and I am shock! when I touched my hair there was no grease on my hands as was the case in the past!!!!! My hair is so moisturized even after two days. I cant wait to wash my hair. Thank you for this video
I have looked for a natural hairstylist in San Diego for 4 years and could not find one. I came on KZread to try to help myself and watched hundreds of videos on natural hair and had been ready to give up until I found your channel. Seriously, thank you.
I'm telling you this right now. This method has WORKED! My hair LOVES this method. I've tried so many methods to keep my hair moisturized and nothing seemed to work. I'm glad I found this method to use. I'll definitely be continuing with this method!!
Best video on low porosity hair.
Using warm water starting tonight!

Shlinda u favor Whitney Houston to me. You are so pretty. I'm living for that green eyeshadow. I have some from the Urban Decay Electric palette. I'll have to give it a try. Keep up the good work and as always thank u for the candor. It's not always given by all youtubers, but it's certainly needed and appreciated.

Shlinda thank you SO much for the tip about warming the water before moisturising my hair. I tried it a good while back and there was no difference, but after watching your video and seeing your beautiful results, I thought I’d try it again with even warmer water 😍🙏🏽 and Gurrrrrrllllll!!! My hair is so soft and in heaven right now. What a difference it’s made. I’ve been doing it for a few weeks now along with diluting and warming my Deep conditioners and my hair has revived and my coils have sprung back to life. 😊So just had to say THANK YOU for ending my 8 year struggle with chronic dryness. Apart from finding out I have Low porosity hair, this has been the most helpful advice to date. Coz my cuticles ain’t raising up for nobody!!! 😆
I love your personality and excitement. I'm definitely going to try the warm water. Thanks
Love the green eye shadow!!
I am so excited to try this! Thank you!!
OMG your eye makeup!!! Just gorgeous!!!
Flawless love you girl! 🙌🏾🙌🏾x

Shlinda, your natural hair is beautiful! Keep up the good work! Gorgeous! 👍🌟👍😊
I really appreciate your videos! You are not kidding the warm water makes a world of a difference. I try and keep my water kettle in my bathroom now for when I’m in a rush.
oh my! i can't wait to try this...my fine tendrils are constantly drying out so Im hoping your method will give me a little hope...Thank you for sharing
Thanks for the extra information. I'm new to the curly girl method, I need all the info I can get, keep the videos coming!!
Hello shalinda I enjoyed your video I just found out that I'm a low porosity natural. You have the best video on low porosity what to do with moisturizing and sealing. I couldn't find anyone who does your method in which makes sense. I've been emailing alot of naturals and they seem not to understand the spraying with warm water and I have not received any answers. I stumbled upon your video and I know what you said made sense. God directed me to your video. Someone didn't mention warm water they said warming up your leave in conditioner. I didn't want to be bothered doing this. But it makes sense to spray your hair with warm water I thought so. I was second guessing myself. Because its opening up the cuticle to allow the product to go in and sealing it with a oil. Going to get ready to moisturize and seal my low porosity hair. Thank you so much for this video. This video meant so much to me I'm about healthy natural haircare.
I’m glad that I found this video....thanks for sharing!!! Today is moisturize day & I will definitely be trying this method!!
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing lady! Love your hair videos and how beautiful your hair is.

I tried this last night and warming the water & conditioner made a huge difference not to mention now I know how to use the Shea Moisture Extra Moisture Transitioning Milk that has been in my stash for months now. I was going to give it away but not anymore. I will re-moisturize using this method and the products from now on. Thank you!!!!
You have such beautiful hair. I will have to try adding water to that leave-in and hopefully that will help with the stickiness that I noticed when I used it the first time. I am so happy I found your channel!! :)
Thank you for the warm H20 idea! New subbie here. I also love the Shea moisture Milk. I have to try the Low Porosity Protein free leave In.

your hair looks very moisturized. Thanks for sharing, I like that you used something else in addition to the low porosity leave in conditioner, I have tried it a couple of times and it gives great slip but it doesn't moisturize so I just stopped using it, but I didnt think about layering with something else.
Hi Shlinda thank dear for really sharing this video. I did test the strands and I'm low porosity. I needed to see this. Love Mattie:-)
Thanks for the tips. Bless up!

+SyreetaD424 You will really love it. If I would have done this a couple of years ago I would have saved a lot of problems. Breakage, and shedding has really gone down.
Thanks for the tips! Your explanation of low porosity hair was excellent...I've come to realize my hair which is fine, airy and light does great with bjco, cantu deep conditioner and an oil to seal and eco styler gel....

that shine though that cold water gives, that's hard to let go of. but thanks for all the information. you've been very helpful.
Thanks for the great idea. You can also seal it with grapeseed oil. I mix it with GIOVANNI DIRECT LEAVE - IN WEIGHTLESS MOISTURE CONDITIONER.

And by the way you have the best video. Two thumbs up.
Thank you sister
Thanks for the great idea. You can also seal it with grapeseed oil. I mix it with GIOVANNI DIRECT LEAVE - IN WEIGHTLESS MOISTURE CONDITIONER. I also put 7 drops of Argan oil, and 7 drops of Jojoba oil to the mix. I have organic vitamin E, I'm going to add that as well.😍😍😍😍😍
Beautiful
You're make-up is so pretty
Love it
Beautiful Woman, beauty you already answered my question about Carol 's Daughter Black Vanilla collection Thank you, Love and Peace 👄
Why are you so pretty though?! Lol. Your hair is pretty too. I just might have revisit that tip. P.S. I absolutely love your outro!
So late to the party on this! But this is life changing!!!! what shampoo do you use? Thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 I wish I had found your videos MUCH sooner in my natural hair journey! I struggled in figuring out what to do with this low porosity, fine, coily, shrinks SO BADLY hair of mine! I am loving the information that you provide in your videos. It confirms some of the things that I have tried- ESPECIALLY using the warm water as part of my regimen. I mix warm water and virgin olive oil in my spray bottle and put it on my hair once a week. I message it in really good- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT GIRL!!!😉 I dont like to use a lot of different products. And, I like low maintenance. So, I basically stick with the wash n go. When I try different styles on my type of hair, they just dont turn out right- NO VOLUME AND FULLNESS. Its thin/ fine and shrinks TO THE MAX!!! Any suggestions? (I may just need to keep watching your videos. They may have the answer.😁) You and your daughter's hair are GORGEOUS!!! BTW, I love how you embrace your SHRINKAGE- I'll work on that.
I have thick hair, thick strands with normal porosity and I love the transitioning milk. So moisturizing !!!!

just discovered your channel, love it, love you😊! I see you're using the LCO method. is this what you recommend for low porosity/protein resistan hair gals like me? Or can I try LOC method as well?
I use the carols daughter moisturizing milk.. I love it. Could that be put in place of where you added yours before the oil??
i have very dry, dull, fine low porosity (which I just found out) 3b hair.. Going to get a trim then buy the products you mentioned and then start doing this routine. I used to think because my hair is dry I need thick moisturiser, masks etc. It's a no wonder my hair always felt greasy and stiff after applying those products. Hopefully your tips will work for me!! x
🔶OMG🔶 Warm the water!!! 🙌🙌 #Awesome #Thanks
Hi shlinda pls do u moisturize everyday and how often do u advice I use a leave in conditioner?
Great tip I have low porosity hair also I use the LCO method. Never thought of warming my water. Thanks

+Yumekia Porter 20 seconds, just warm up the water or use hot water from the faucet
what shampoo an conditioner would you recommend for low porosity hair?
How do you warm up your water? And keep it warm while doing hair?
Your hair has really grown! Mine is fine too, but doesn't look as full as yours.
I had no idea about the warm water. Do you make a fresh mix for your bottle each time? I need to try the Shea Moisture LP range. I'm gonna follow your advice!
Seems simple and legit
❤️😍
Good one

do you warm the water..or do you use warm water from the faucet?
Very pretty:)
I love your eyeliner green eyeshadow! What are the brands?
