    If the project storeys are less than 2, like most residential projects, I would like to set project level as sea level. Sometimes it's really tricky, when you switch around sea level and other reference levels.

    If you set up the project altitude to zero from the start, it's not too complicated. Most of the time you won't need the actual elevations from sea level, but if you're working with earthwork or underground utilities, you almost always will be referencing those. What is great with ARCHICAD is the ability to use both at the same time! Just be aware of which one is set when you go to input... Thanks for the comment!

    Please share with us the projects which you use. You can share on yandex disk or wherever. It would be more useful in learning. Also publish videos about facade modelling and lifehacks for archicad. I really liked your channel. Good luck

    Thanks Muhammadjon for the comment! Glad you like the channel. When I can, I like to share files or downloads, but when working in the product templates it's something made available on the member pages. I'll do some more on facade modeling as I try to cover a wide range of tips and tricks for ARCHICAD. Thanks!

    Isn't your Civil Site Plan, that you are tracing from, a vector PDF? And if it is, why don't you explode it and then just snap to its points? That's for the beginning when you are creating the boundary and later when you make the slab.

    Question please... How are you getting mesh (3d element) into the worksheet? Referring to when you go to your worksheet that has your model content plan with the "linked references"

  • @CONTRABIM

    @CONTRABIM

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Jeremy. Great question! So the model content plan is a hotlinked module that is placed into the project. It's master layer is typically turned off, except for a few "show all" type of views. One of those views can be setup as a trace and reference onto a worksheet. That way the worksheet will display the contents of the module (in a separate tab), while most working views will keep it turned off. The nice thing about setting it up this way is it's easy to have both views open in the tabs at the same time, while keeping the modeling views cleaner without the hotlink turned on. Hopefully that makes sense! Thanks for the question~

    @@CONTRABIM Make sure I am understanding correctly... So basically you are placing the module on one of the stories and ghosting it into a worksheet?

  • @CONTRABIM

    @CONTRABIM

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@JeremyAtchley Yes I place it on my main story, and then use a trace and reference onto a worksheet so that I can eyedropper from the worksheet. The benefit of having it referenced to a worksheet is to be able to have both tabs open at once, and bounce back and forth as needed. Other option is to just have the module turned on while modeling, which I do sometimes as well.

    Your survey guy can most likely provide all the points with xyz values in a table format and if you have that ArchiCAD can automatically create a mesh with it. How come you don't use that method?

  • @CONTRABIM

    @CONTRABIM

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yes sometimes if you're lucky you can get an XYZ table, or an unflattened 3D DWG which can be imported and converted to XYZ points through GDL. I use that method when available, but when it's not it's quicker to just model based on the information I have at the time! I'll have to do some additional videos on those other methods here soon, not part of this original sequence
