I did enjoy it. And love the retro fx created by these modded lenses.
There ya go Todd... doin that thing you do again... Very nice!
Also helpful for cleaning mold out of the lens. The Jupiter9 is now rather expensive; if you get one with mold, it's much cheaper & cleaning is rather easy.
Needed this right now...love you man!
Bailed after 1:10, subscribed to Tito's channel, thanks for your honesty.
I love anamorphic chop shop! Tito is so passionate, I love it!!
excellent video thanks for sharing.
I can see the fishing line (flare filter) on the ellipse bokeh at 11:36. Have you found a way or technique to avoid this and still maintain those nice ellipse bokeh? Thanks!
You guys are always doing some offbeat work! Thumbs up for that!
So much more exciting than all the BUY THIS CAMERA IF YOU WANT TO LOOK LIKE EVERYONE ELSE content on here. Probably my favourite video this month!
Always, always, always trying something interesting and fun... really loved the intro Todd! Be well, stay encouraged, and share my highest with the Team!

As always, thanks so much for the continued support Jacob! Hope all is well!
Superb!
Nice tutorial. Going to give this a go.
I can't find those "apperture disks" does it have another name or something? I could also 3d print some if i had the model.
bro... so very AWESOME. What a great hack, and easy to understand... wondering if you put a different shaped insert inside the lense (not oval but star shaped or half moon, whatever) if you can play with the bokeh.

If anyone stumbles upon this comment, yes, it's possible. There was even a lens with a square aperture hole with a 4 blade mechanism
there are so many versions and so many opinions on which one is best.. drives me crazy lol.. which one do you recommend is the best for movies and music videos? i really trust your taste .. keep it up and hope to hear from you.
can this modified helios 44-2 58mm offer 58mm on 35mm mode and 87mm on s35mm mode both or actually only 87mm on s35mm mode because it's a bloody vignetting on 35mm mode??? if only s35mm works which means this full frame lens becomes apsc lens since it's modified, then i'm out....tolerating 58mm to replace wide angle is already on my bottom line, using 87m to shoot film is a nightmare....
What are the lights behind you on the c stands?
Where would one buy custom oval rings
Your Mir 1B lens element is inverted after the mod i guess or you misaligned one or more element ! Please check out.
I didn’t get, why do we have to unscrew front element of it goes only in the back
i cant find the part to open the lens on my minolta lens
This is sweet! If I have a camera with an anamorphic mode (in my case the Pocket 4K in 2.8K anamorphic) do I use it in anamorphic mode or the regular aspherical mode (or will it work in both)?

I don't think it's gonna work in the real anamorphic mode, because the lens don't squeeze the image.
Does this work with Auto Focus lences?
I have a BMPCC4k and I was wondering if you could recommend a cheap lens I can do this with, looking for MFT lenses as I do not have a speedbooster or lens converter. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I love the look of the Hellios
Can you tell us what adapters to get for the Helios and Jupiter lenses?

Whoops!!! I meant to put that in the video! All three lenses are m42 mount, so you’ll need m42 to whatever mount your cam has. I used m42 to EF.
Where do you find Aperture disks? i can't see them anywhere online

I found mine on eBay
I don't get how the fishing line works when it's vertical in the lens... I'll have to try it.

You can apparently also put in just in front of the lens, not inside it. Might not give the exact same effect but I saw Daniel Schiffer do that oncd
A what-wrench? Some captions would be dope lol
Genocide od the leses...
oh this is super cool
Why do u need the fishing line for??

For the lens flare effects show in the end with the phone
It's not a "MIR-1B", the letter at the end is transcribed as a V.

That's like seeing Vostok wristwatches listed with the brand as "Boctok"
Don't get the whole colouring the inside of the lens. Even in the test shots you showed, I didnt see anything
Another great tutorial! I will definitely consider modifying my lenses, if possible! (I don't have much gear...) I find your videos really inspiring, and they offer me great tips and insights. I just started my own channel, where I want to make creative ad-free and low-budget videos. If you're interested, please check it out!
came here to look at the comments for the 10/10 intro
Have to try for real!!
