I also use a downstream injector to avoid running the bleach through my pressure washer as you advised in past videos. Some of the gadgets will improve work flow ( larger surface cleaner and a 5.5gpm pressure wash pump) but none are necessary. I also added a remote shutoff for the chem injector (it saves a lot of time) and a 12v system to wash roofs. Do good work and upgrade equipment later if you get more serious about it. Dan I need your help. First I'm a dedicated subscriber and thanks so much for the guidance. I started pressure washing and house washing in CA a few month a ago and it's been going great. Today I did a 2 story house, pale yellow color with tons of black mold on the back and one side. The siding is some kind of wood composite and seemed soft-ish, no way to i would use pressure. I down streamed your recipe with my jrod and 4gpm machine, good soap hitting the house. After 15 min none of it was coming off with a rinse. I had to get very close to the first story with my shooter rinse tip and it "would" come off with that pressure but I was sure would also cause damage and be extremely time consuming and no way to reach the 2nd story with the pressure needed. I hit it again but this time downstreamed straight pool essentials from a bucket, good coverage and another 15 min to dwell. A lite better but not much. I told the customer the mold had gotten too deep into the siding, still gave a great house wash on the rest and did the driveway for free. He tipped me $25 even. I know I did everything right but what do you think I did wrong failing to eliminate the mold? Thank you so much for responding if you can.

I mixed that container 3 to 1 (32 oz water and 16 oz of Pool Essentials) and then it's mixed again with the hose. It worked real good but not too hot. I had bad algae on the South of my house and it took two applications to remove it. Probably will try cutting it back to 8 oz and test that out. Keep in mind the hose end sprayer solution is 8% so using Pool Essentials is almost 1 to 1 that's why I did 3 to 1 to dilute it.

Three years later it needs done again, normally it needs washed every year. Put a gallon of 7% up to 10% in a bucket with a gallon of water and siphon that with 2 ounces of Dawn and see what happens. Should be plenty safe to not cause harm to lawn and plants. If the yuk doesn’t get dissolved in 15-20 minutes. Add 1/2 gallon more SH and retry. Once it works, write it down!!

I bought 15% from Amazon uk. Used it today wearing shorts and T-shirt, gloves glasses. Used my wet and forget sniper tub that I hook my hose onto, shoots spray high up roof. Shot it all over my roof. Did all my paths. Rinsed it off. Then I coated the roof in wet N forget. A kept spraying my arms and legs with water as I went. I don’t know how much my mixer dilutes it, il look at roof in morning. Neighbour paid £600 for cowboys to hypo and jet wash, yes it’s clean but the concrete slates are so bleached, can make the tiles more porous. I had a few pink spots on my T-shirt. Wasn’t windy. He who dares wins. 😊

Depending on your injector’s ratio. I run 10% straight but I have a low draw adjustable downstream chemical injector 20:1. If you are using a stainless steel non adjustable it might be a 10:1. In that case diluting it like you are is a good thing.

Question. You mentioned adding Dawn (surfactant). How much to add, to a 5 gal bucket, or part/ratio in a recipe? So why am I reading about Dawn not mixing well with Bleach, besides it's maybe about up selling another product. Dan, I agree with what you said in this video, specifically about the 30 sec. It was spray-on, spray-off. Did ok, but needed pressure in several areas. Cost $$$. Would like a video to clarify wand tips that get max spray distance for shooting recipes and water rinse with a homeowner 3000 psi pressure washer. Thank You, your new subscriber.

Good morning sir. I would put about an ounce of Dawn dishwashing soap for every gallon I mix up. If I am just siphoning the bleach straight into a downstream chemical injector, I will usually pour two or 3 gallons of the bleach a.k.a. sodium hypochlorite into a bucket And add two or 3 ounces of the Dawn. I have great success with Dawn in this situation. Dawn has two recipes to choose from. When you’re at the store look at the back label. On the top of the label one recipe will say do not mix with bleach. The other recipe does not mention anything about bleach so use whatever you feel most comfortable with. I don’t check because it all works great and I never have any adverse reaction.

Great video Very informative. Question for you. Is Dawn dishwashing soap ok to use as a surfactant? I’ve heard to use a laundry detergent as it’s formulated to work with bleach better. Any thoughts of using a surfactant for herbicides? I have an AG surfactant I use when spraying weeds in my lawn. I’m guessing the soaps a better option as it will help lift the dirt off the surface better than a plain surfactant which just makes water wetter like you said. One more question if you don’t mind. What are your thoughts on pouring the sodium hypochlorite solution and soap into the soap dispenser on the electric power washers? I have a Karcher electric power washer since I’m not a professional and just doing my home and and helping out some of my elderly neighbors. Thank you

I’m using 10% pool chlorinator with a 3400 psi pressure washer. All I need to know is do I dilute the 10% with water, or do I simply put it in the foamer with an ounce of Dawn (safe for mixing with chlorine) and let the pressure washer add sufficient water to the mix that all is good. Depends on what you are cleaning and other factors... but if you think strait on in the foam cannon is gona be to hot for the plants or paint... you can dial it back to start and work your way back up towards 100%. To get a hotter mix above the foam cannon you will have to set up a GP High Draw Downstream injector aft the pump. To get even hotter you can ad a second injector run in parallel with a bypass valves and bypass line. To get any hotter... say 5% ... you should use a 12 volt pump and batch mix tank not a pressure washer... and pre-wet and cover plants and bag down spouts.

I know this is a year old and i get that. I just started doing pressure washing as a side thing for extra cash. The pump spraying with the mix you recommend is pretty much spot on. Ive just been having issues getting the mix rite while applying it with my pressure washer lol. I have a gallon soap tank on my pressure washer and as the manual says that it will with the soap nozzle mix 1 gallon of soap or whatever you put in it for every 7 gallons of water going through the machine. I disconnected the hose to the tank and put it in a bucket so basically downstreaming it. I went 2 qt of bleach to 2 gallons of water and 2 oz soap. Seemed to work okay but not great and i didn't want to mix it to hot. Any recommendations on a mix for the supposed 1 gallon soap to 7 gallons of water my machine claims to do.

Thank you for the comment. I don’t know what concentration you’re using. Meaning are you using extra strength Clorox at 7% active ingredients or are you using pool essentials chlorinating liquid for swimming pools which is at 10% sodium hypochlorite active ingredients. Don’t forget to add an ounce of Dawn dishwashing soap to every gallon. You mix up and don’t be afraid to add 1 quart stronger bleach. So make it 1 gallon water to 3 quarts bleach and see how that works.
