    What I love most about this is he is a professional who's actually doing this at a real job he got. Went on a forum today and so many people were saying unless you use at least 5 GPM you are a disgrace to the industry. How the heck am I supposed to start if I can't afford a 1500 dollar machine? Exactly. So annoying when people do that

    I run two Ryobi machines for 4 years now. 1 is 2700 the other 2900 psi 2.5 gpm. I use a downstream connector for my cleaners to get past the pump. I have ran 200 feet of hose with a backpack pump sprayer on my back with a 50/50 mix put the downstreamer on my gun and took the hose for the sprayer with the wand off and hook it to my downstreamer and roll on. I open the lid just a little but it's not necessary. I get houses done fast and I have done car dealerships like Miller Toyota etc. I have also gotten 15 and 30 gallon drums from carwash that were empty and $100 sureflow pump 3gpm and now can softwash with a pump. We do decks and roofs. Pump has a light 100foot hose hooked to it with a metal garden sprayer with a disconnect on 5he end so I can put on wands and tips . You can do this and get paid if you think your way through it,do a good job,do the research watch hundreds of KZread videos on it and apply yourself. Dont do jobs for nothing just to book jobs. I charge what the big boys do and I have a van,newly acquired because last year I was pulling a $300 Harbor freight trailer with a Ford explorer. Flyer houses that are dirty only,build yourself up on Facebook groups only use a hit mix on dirty sides and lighter mix on not so dirty,your better off using more soap on a slightly dirty house than a full bleach bath. I use to put 3 gallons of bleach in a 5 gallon bucket 2 gallons of water and dawn and pull it around hitting whole house heavy. Go light mix on not so dirty sides and heavier where needed. Back pack spray what you can with a 50/50 mix to speed up wash time where its heavy. You will use less material this way and still produce a super job. Dan's videos along with many others gave me the info I needed to be who I am today and today I am a powerwash/softwash beast pulling down the jobs and getting 100% referrals from clients I've worked for. Good luck everyone and thank you Dan for all you do and have done :) wash on brother's!!!

    Very cool to hear. I had two larger surface area clients this week (my first where I used this method). No idea what downstream injector means but will research. I'm just foregoing my pressure washer and using 4gallon backpack with 50/50 mix. It's strong, aggregates my eyes at times and I worry about plants etc. Some stubborn spots require 2-3x applications. I've charged about $70/hr. Using a mask and gloves now. Will try using pressure washer with black tip directly into Bleach. But local stores only selling 6.5% SH or maybe an 8% if lucky.

    Glad I came across this video. A lot of research and videos showing the minimum is 4gpm. When someone tries to say different they're just told they have no idea what they're talking about. They're setting people up for failure and damage claims. Then I've found a few videos of people using a 2.5, and found this video. Using a garden hose. Point was definitely made.

    I washed my 1st house today. It was so nasty and hadn't been cleaned in 30 plus years. I charged $300. I tried the pool essentials with my down streamer but it was so weak and ended up having to use a pump sprayer which took forever but it was spotless when I was done and the owners were very happy. I'm trying to save up for a 4gpm unit before because my 2.3gpm barely is cutting it. Thanks again Dan for all the advice. Loving your channel.

    Not for nothing bro but your an amazing mentor. I have a side business doing soft washes April thru end of fall , upstate ny weather. Anyway I seen a video u made a comment sometimes u get urself into mixed emotions doing these videos. I never leave youtube comments, bro what u have done for me and what your currently doing for my new hires and many people nationwide is simply fukin awesome, excuse my language but your amazing bro. My wife and I were down and out I happend to see one of your videos snd u literally helped me change my life around . Last year alone I made 62 grand more than I did the year before just by side work soft washes. I quote u all the time man. I finally got to place where i hired to guys, after I hired them I told them if they watch and subscribe to your videos and pass a simple written test in a week I would give them immediate raise. It worked great, I dont get all the green horn questions or worry about them causing more damage than there worth. Point of this book I'm writing is THANK U FOR YOUR SO VERY DETAILED VIDEOS. I THINK COMBINED WITH YOUR REALISTIC ATTITUDE. YOUR MOTIVATION TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE AND JUST THE FACT THAT U CANT STOP EXPLAINING THE IMPORTANCE OF DETAILS. YOUR A GOOD MAN FOR WHAT U DO. DONT EVER DOUBT YOURSELF BUD YOUR MAKING DIFFERENCE FOR PEOPLE'S LIFES ALL OVER IM SURE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE. IF I CAN GIVE U ANY ADVICE IT WOULD BE TO USE THE HIGHER END GO PRO CAMERAS, COMES ESTER PROOF , EXTREMELY WIDE ANGLES, AUTO LIGHT TO DARK ADJUSTER, ZOOM , GREST SOUND WITH NO BS HEADSET, VIEWERS GET FIRST HAND VIEW OF EVERYTHING FROM STSRTING THE MOTOR TO CLIMBING UP LADDERS TO DO A GUTTER FLUSH OR ROOF WASH , FIRST HAND VIEW OF HOW U HABDLE UR CUSTOMERS, THAT IS IF THEY COMSENTED. OTHER THAN THAT YOUR THE MAN BROTHER. MY FAMILY AND I THANK U , GOD BLESS U AND YOURS THROUGH THESE TOUGH TIMES SND KEEP UP THE VIDEOS. HOPE THIS HELPS TO GIVE U GOOD START TO UR DAY. What equipment r u running. I was running a 4400 4.2 gpm Just few weeks ago my wife bought me a 6,000 psi 7gpm and sold my 4400 psi 4.2gpm one. I fly for 700 . Dan, I "moonlight" doing power washing of houses, decks, fences, etc. I have an old(er) pressure washer (Honda GC160 engine with a Comet axial pump that has a downstream chemical injector). This pump has a red knob on top of it for controlling the amount of "offload" pressure, but there is no way to control the mixing ratio of Pool Essentials Bleach to the water going through the pump. That said I have no idea what the mixing ratio is on this pump ... I simply draw the bleach directly from its container through the chemical injector and it mixes with the water going out through the gun hose. I used this configuration to wash a 2,000 square foot 2 story vinyl sided house. At 10% sodium hypochlorite, the house came out looking beautiful! I had no issues with the discoloring of the siding. So that said, in repeating what you said early on in this video, would you agree that I should be okay using Pool Essentials on future vinyl sided houses without discoloration? I cannot say doing this one house 100% proves that will be the case, but it seems to show I will be fine. Second, I would like to purchase a good quality telescoping wand (up to 18 feet?) ... any suggestions for wands that would be a good buy, possibly at a big box store like Lowes or via the web? This video is excellent, as are your other videos! Thanks for responding to my inquiry!

  • @DansVlog

    @DansVlog

    I find no purpose in telescoping wands. Pink tip to get high, black tip for low. I personally never discolored anything especially vinyl siding with how I mix my SH. That does not mean you never will. This is a risky business. Nothing is definete or absolute. You MUST use your judgement and learn as you go. All I can do is say what I do and how it works for me

  • @jeffgehbauer8007

    The only reason I mention a telescoping wand is due to my washer not being 4 gallons per minute. It is 2.5 gallons per minute. I find that with mine I have to use a wand extension to get high up ... on occasion really high up in some "nook and cranny". I would like to get a 4 gallon per minute machine, but cannot do so presently. I think you mentioned that the Honda GX270 3,800 psi 3.5 GPM Gas Pressure Washer is a good choice? Here is a web link for it www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-Honda-GX270-3-800-psi-3-5-GPM-Gas-Pressure-Washer-DXPW3835/203185011. If so, I know this is nit picking, but technically that is 3.5 not 4 gallons per minute ... is that okay or should I shoot for a true 4 gallon per minute machine spec wise? Thanks Dan!
