Had a clog issue today that required taking the agitation valves out and unclogging them on a much larger tank (running 300 gallons) Is there an easier way of unglogging agitation hoses without disassembly?

Depends on what is causing the clogs. The most common cause is not flushing the hydroseeder after use and the much will harden in the hoses/fittings. With paper mulch (what we recommend for our machines) it will be more forgiving and less prone to clogging. Running water through every part of the machine after the end of each day should solve most clogging issues. The other main reason could be adding the mulch too fast or adding too much mulch. If the pump sucks in a ball of mulch its possible for this to get stuck in hoses/fittings. The solution to this is to pour the mulch in slower or if you are using bales break them up further before adding them.

Andrew, we do not add any extra dye to the mix besides the dye that is already in the mulch. The blue crystals that you see with the tackifier are the water soluble fertilizer.

Matt, any ingredient you use will have a certain application rate, and will vary by brand. We are using our "1-2 Punch" fertilizer and tackifier blend, which is 6oz. per 100 gallons.

Eddie, that is a water soluble fertilizer that dissolves into the mix instead of using a granular fertilizer.

We use what's called a pellet much. Same paper as the bales but a lot easier to work with. So instead of breaking up you can just pour the pellets in.

Eric, depending on where you are located there should be an erosion control dealer nearby. They should have the grass seed, mulch, and anything else you would need. A common one across the US is SiteOne.

Hey Mark! We use the landscape supplier Site One for most of our mulch (Lesco Seed Starter 3) purchases and Ramy Seed Co. for most of our seed! If neither of these have locations near you, you could try searching "Landscape supplier" and see what is nearby!

@@voigtsmithinnovation4112 Thanks so much for the info - I really appreciate it! Any advice on what you think might be one of the better Hydroseeding Units and Size(Gal) recommendations for someone just starting out. I'm in Maine. Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my questions!

@@mgauthier72 If you're just starting out, our 200 gallon unit will more than likely be the best unit for you. It has enough capacity to do a range of different sized jobs, while still being small enough to fit into the back of any pickup. The 400 gallon could be a unit to get as your business grows and hydroseeding becomes a bigger part of that. If you have any further questions just give us a call at 507.252.3033. Thanks!

@@Katie-sx5kf There is no secret recipe to hydroseeding and it will all come down to what specific mulch, seed, and ingredients you choose to use. All of these will have different application rates. Our 200 JAH is able to mix enough mulch to do about 2,000 sq. ft. of flat ground coverage. So if your mulch application rate is 50# per 1,000 sq ft you would put in 100# of mulch. If your seed rate is 7# per 1,000 sq ft, you would put in 14#. Depending on type of seed/mulch these numbers can vary greatly and there is no standard application rate for every product/scenario.
