It's possible to memorize long passage of the Bible in a short amount of time, but it takes a little bit of planning, a lot of dedication and some great accountability. Here are the five steps I used to complete the book of 2 Timothy (4 chapters, 83 verses) in less than a month.

Great step-by-step video on Bible memory! Notice he never said it was easy? That's a key indicator of Josh's legitimacy on this subject. Beware of any claim to "easily memorize the Bible." It takes hard work, and this video does a great job at breaking the process down into digestible steps.

I totally did what you said most people would do -- take my total number of verses and divide by the number of days (leaving no time for planning or rest or catch-up). It ended up working for me, but my pace wouldn't be sustainable forever. I like to set goals a year and then a month at a time, but I don't usually confine myself to a certain number per day. Some days I memorize a bunch and some days, I just get familiar with the next section without actually mastering any verses -- I just know I need to finish by the end of the month. And I love the part at the end about not earning any merit by doing this -- I'm constantly having to evaluate my motivation and keep my pride in check.

Yea, I know what you mean. And the simple math isn’t a bad thing, but I know that for some people, setting that kind of goal can easily end in discouragement.

Awesome! I have found recently that I'm not remembering scripture like I used top. Maybe it comes with my advancing years. I had been reading a book a few years ago on improving my memory and I can't remember where I put the book. That'd be funny if it wasn't true. 🤣 I'll have to check out your other videos and get some tips and techniques so I can remember the book of James forwards and backwards. I pray you had a good Sabbath!

I don’t know how advanced you are in age, but I started on serious memorization at the young age of 70, and I memorized the first chapter of Ephesians in less than 30 days. Could probably have done it in 23 but I wanted to memorize a few other verses. It’s work, but I continue reviewing till the hard verses get easy. I thank God for leading me to scripture memorization.

Josh boa noite.

I listened to the podcast that linked to this YT video. I had a ? so I read all the comments to see if anyone else asked the same question. Nope. So here is my question from podcast & KZread: You said Verse #'s were the same things (ex. vs 1 is door and vs 5 is glove and etc.) So, do you have a door (vs 1) leading to all 4 floors? Don't you get confused using the same objects over and over again for vs one? On another memory project I found myself getting fuzzy images when I use the same object (like door) more than once. If using the door over and over again works for you, then what am I doing wrong. p.s. I have never tried memorizing large portions of the Bible, but I am definitely inspired. Thx you so much for your content.

The location is different but the object might be the same. I place the story on the location, using the object. The object itself does not contain the story. That keeps me from mixing them up. So while I say “door”, what I really mean is that I try to begin each chapter at the entrance to a room. Sometimes it’s a door, sometimes is just a landing. But the story I put there to remember the verse is unique to that location.
