HOW TO MASTER YOUR DRAW, ANCHOR & RELEASE

Спорт

Consistency is critical in archery. Learning the correct technique, and then duplicating that technique over and over again, is a key factor in becoming the best archer possible. Duplicating correct technique ultimately comes down to discipline and repetition. With archery, however, getting a large number of reps in every day can be difficult due to time, lack of access to a safe and convenient shooting area or the amount of physical exertion required for a high daily rep count. In this session of School of Nock, John Dudley will teach you about the importance of an archery shot trainer in order to achieve the amount of repetition required to duplicate the correct technique shot after shot.

I just want to say thank you for the amazing videos you put out. I’ve watched your 101 videos and beginner archery videos on repeat and it has helped me a lot! I consider myself a beginner archer still after two years and decided to work as an Archery tech to develop more hands on experience and knowledge, as well as passion for the sport. I have also been recommending everyone one interested and new in archery to your channel and use the fundamentals that I’ve learned from you to teach others! So a huge thank you to you for what you do, I know many of us appreciate it!

I built my shot trainer a few years ago from an old crosscut saw handle. Drilled a couple holes, threaded some cord, tied a couple knots, added a loop, and use it nearly every week. When I have someone over and want to work on a release, shot execution, proper anchor point...etc, THIS is the tool I grab first. Nock On! 🤘

The shot trainer makes a huge difference. It's the best way for a beginner to learn, but for more experienced archers it lets you get in a lot of reps with good technique without fatigue. It's worth buying one

I made one of rubber tubing so I could add more tubes to create more resistance. Plus you can get your release form practice too. Just pull thru the shot like you are shooting. Works great if you standing like taking a real shot or sitting in a straight back chair where your back is straight.

I use this all the time at home, especially for practicing up/ downhill shots. I'll play a videogame to get my heart racing, and then pause it and do a few shots. Ready for Vegas2023, thanks John Dudley.

Did you catch your logo on the toolbench mat of Chris Pratt in the new Amazon series " The Terminal List"?

@@shanedavis6306 Yeah I thought I saw his vanes on the arrows but wasn't really paying attention but then on the one scene you could clearly see the logo on workbench. Now that I'm on to the last episode I am sure they reached out to John, as I see they definitely caught the BCM logo on purpose of the scary black weapon as well.

I used the shot trainer to learn how to shoot my back strap release. It’s helped with target panic for sure. However, the shot trainer has no give at full draw so it doesn’t mimic how my bow acts. I still use the trainer but just a small fraction of the time of my practice.

How do you use this with a silverback? Mine is adjusted to about 3lb above my holding weight so when i use it with a shot trainer, i have to pull so much harder to make it go off that i cant keep my front arm from shaking and my front shoulder from collapsing.
