Yall all these effects are doing is making your beat loud enough. You still want to make sure there is headroom. Mastering a song with vocals and everything is very different!! Don't get confused, thinking this is the process to master FULL SONGS. This is just a process to get your beats loud enough for a rapper to want to rap on it. A lot of people in the comments Gate Keeping, saying you have to do this or have to do that. Just do what sounds good to your ears. 💯

Nice!! I’ll try this out next time. When I cook up, I just leave a soft clipper on with the default preset, so I don’t blow my monitors accidentally with any super loud sounds. Lately, I’ve been using Maximus with one of the mastering presets just to make my 808 more full and distorted, but not too much. But I noticed my waveforms after exporting were almost capped. I don’t want to make it too loud that I blow out someone else’s speakers. Lol!

It baffles me how many “producers” will just disable the ceiling before even messing with the attack and release times to get the sound they want. Not to mention how many free plugins can soft clip much better than the saturation or the stock soft clip plugin. This is why you guys will fade away, nothing but followers following followers. If you read this comment and get offended you will be forgotten. If you find truth in it you have a chance.
@JayPhatty
Жыл бұрын
Man! That sounds very subjective. I'm disabling the ceiling because I don't like how it cuts the transients compared to the sat knob. Now, if this was a phull song, the chain would be different, but this is just showing how to get your beats loud enough. Especially if you have good sound selection, you don't need to do much. Now, the fruity soft clipper works wonders being used like this. There are definitely good soft clip plugins, but you don't need them if you know how to use what you got. I hope you try and open your mind a bit and not try to gate keep the process phor other producers. 💯

@@diesel8907 fruity limiter & maximus are the ones I use normally
If I’m mastering a full song, do I want to master the beat like this on its own first, or master the track as a whole all at once?
@JayPhatty

This is just to get beats loud enough to display them. Mixing and mastering whole songs is a different process.

True that, every beat is different and may need other things addressed in different ways.
My man, are you doing this exact technique on the beats you upload to your instrumentals channel?

Recently I'll also use a ozone 9 elements on the end of the chain also but that's not necessary.
FL is so complecated bro
I have my krk studio monitors but i dont use them because im always afraid to make my neighbors mad about the noise😂 having to play the beat over a hundred times doesn't help

Whats the difference between limiter and maximus?
The Limiter has a compressor as well doesn’t it?
Does this work with hardstyle music
Is this also good for mastering songs?
Question does this go for mastering songs or is that a different process?
@JayPhatty
Жыл бұрын
That's a completely different process! Read the pinned comment pham!
Will this method work for phonk beats?
Not gonna lie it makes the beat so loud for me the 808 just sounds so crappy and loud every time I do this
@JayPhatty

I hear you, it's all about the mix truly, before you master, make sure everything is leveled at a low level, the master is going to amplify everything, it's very important to make sure the mix is sitting nice with plenty of headroom before the master.

How about just turn up the volume on the sounds goofy
In Mastering do we need compressor limiter and soft clipper only?

Sounds muddy af thru my monitors they really let anyone make these videos Lmao the one before this dude was putting his melody at -7 db and his 808 at plus 3.5 and just slapping a soft clipped on it and calling it done

Why would u master a beat if someone's gonna rap on that same file? Y don't u just send them the unmastered version so a professional can master it. Genuine question bro

Don't worry, I just see your pinned comment. But still confusing cos in the video u talk about leaving headroom to give space for vocals. Either u make mistake or don't really know what Ur saying
@JayPhatty

Why would you master a beat ?

thats why i just use ai mastering like emastwr because long as you mix the beat good the master gone be good rather a rapper rap on it or not but if the engineeer want to remaster than ok ill send trackouts but artist dropping music without it being mastered long as the beat mixed good and the vocals mixed i think actual albums get shipped out and mixed becaus wits so many artist just dropping music i know because i worked with a few big names fun fact- did you know the song pick it up by famous dex was not mastered at all!? yeah i know the producer of that beat he couldnt find the flp and trackouts for it but the song mase the radio so they did the best they could with the song lol if yo engineer cold you good for the most part not every time
Doesn’t sound to good bro
Hey just put another limiter on and crank it to the max. L2 on top of an L1 oughta do it 🤦♂️
