It honestly never occurred to me when thinking of masterbatching oils and lye to pre-mix the right amount for one batch of soap per container! I’ve been filling the container with the lye solution and measuring out the correct amount of lye and water combined for each batch of soap from there. This would save so much time!! I feel foolish for not thinking of it! 😱🤦‍♀️ I have a bunch of containers the right size!🎉 so now I have a plan! Thank you for all you do, Karen!

took me a while to find the time to watch - but oh wow - so easy - other soapers that i have watched have never explained it and it seemed to be one of those mystical secret behind closed doors things - well - now i know - thanks karen

LOVE your videos! Silly question from a newby. Do the finished containers contain your total lye solution for 1 batch of soap? In other words, when you are ready to use the lye solution, do you have to weigh out the amount you need for your batch of soap or do you just know that 1 of those containers is what you need for the size batch of soap you are preparing to make?

Yes every finished lye solution bottle is for one batch of soap, so onceI’ve measured and melted my oils I tip all the lye solution into the oil

Amazing video!!! Do you have any tips for really staticky lye? The 50# bag I get from my local soap supply store has TONS of static and every now and then it bounces out of the jug all over the place when I'm measuring it out. Because of this I mix my lye water outside.

I get static from my jugs of lye. I rub a dryer sheet around the rim and just inside of the jug. Works. For me.

@@deathdiablo22 Since lye is hydrophilic & I'm sick of the static, I pour the lye straight into the H20...BUT I am not telling you to do that & I am very careful.
