not necessarely ! because we are not robots in the end! we need others ! but the lesson is that we don t have to rush !! we don t havr to rush love , freindship... it s about acceptence until it happens naturally ! timing is the answer ! but as humans it s very natural to look for others ! we should respect ower emotions and ower needs too .

The mass of humanity are conditioned robots just parroting the memes of their particular culture. Understanding that provides a doorway to finding compassion for others. Because up until a few years ago I was one of those robots. Everyone is on their own journey across a scale of consciousness. I believe that our purpose is to be the light and love that helps to lift those around us to a higher plane❤

Something I found powerful in my life was to realize that my state of Being does not DEPEND on any person, circumstance, or thing . The moment I realized this, loneliness stopped becoming a thing . We're all just as "lonely" as as we are "together" , whether you're with another person or not, you are the creator and chooser of your state of Being, but CHOOSING where you place your attention . If you master your ATTENTION and ENERGY , you will master LIFE , and LONELINESS will be a natural thing of the past because you're always in the preferred state of being that you choose by consciously shifting your attention where you want it to be . Great video Eckhart . Much Love . 🙏

The most powerful realization for my self was discovering I can be at work surrounded by people or home alone and still be in the state of being. It feels like the function of doing is on auto pilot not having to think about it and being present during doing. The people around you seem to respond to this too. I can be with a customer who is angry about something and they're anger will subside interacting with me, but when their attention goes away from me it returns, but never as drastic as in the beginning of the interaction. This has only been this way for a few months and it is beautiful.

"Well, it's when people call out at you just as you're going off to do it, 'What are you going to do, Christopher Robin?' and you say, 'Oh, Nothing,' and then you go and do it. In this busy world - Being alone is a luxury - so you should think of it that way - Most of the time you have to be engaging with people to get what you need. So any time when you don't need to engage with them - consider that as a gift. The real problem is FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) - it's a feeling that other people are having a better and more fulfilling time than you are. But if that is the case - it is because they are pushing themselves into doing activities more than you are - and they pay a price for that. There is nothing stopping you from doing those activities - and you don't necessarily need to be in a group to do most of them. You might find once you start those activities it attracts people to you - because they want to be doing what you are doing. But the key is to focus on your own likes and experiences and not be seeking the approval or attention of other people. At the end of the day - who cares what they think anyway? Other people don't necessarily want the same things that you do. It's like you are on your own personal journey - and watching your own life play out - like a movie that nobody is watching apart from you.

I agree 100%. Visit me here and you'll see a goofy old man that does exactly this, as I've gone No Contact with a toxic family over 10 yrs ago. I do understand this feeling of loneliness though. It's not a need to be with others, but when you've had close friends or family, or been in love, and lost that, and know that good feeling it brings, sometimes you do desire it again, a longing I guess. But you have to awaken and find a happiness within, and cherish your time alone too, it's critically important. Stay strong folks.

When Eckhart at the end said "find the necessary suffering", the crowd laughed, 'cause they thought he meant that this guy should try to find the necessary suffering when in a relationship, so he could end it and move on. 😄 But then he finished the sentence with: "to get you there". So he meant that he needs to find the necessary suffering, in order to use it as fuel, to motivate him to go find someone to start a relationship with, and not to end one. 😅

Alone does not mean loneliness. Sometimes from my observation, some married couple are more lonely married than single. Maybe it is our perception that alone mean lonely. But in reality when you have all the times by yourself, you realised you can focus mediatation and stillness easily, furthermore with no attachment like partner to worry.. Only you, yourself, by yourself can have all the time to enjoy.

Loneliness is just another illusion, it's impossible to be truly alone, knowing that the suffering of loneliness comes from self-shame (of which there is no individual self this is so obvious when one is alone, the world seems like a fantasy and movie-esque) rather than lacking of abundance has kept me alive these past few years, thank you Eckhart.

@@janel342 Although it was never mentioned the root of loneliness in many cases (in society) is shame of being alone; just be alone or not it doesn't matter because there is no separation of anything, as to why i mention shame on a "personal" level maybe this is something being projected through this vice, then again maybe not the answer i certainly don't know. tl;dr being alone is not necessarily loneliness and one is not dependent on the other.

We grow by what we love or attract to us. Just like a flowers love is towards sun, water and nutrients from the soil. We're constantly being pushed in the direction of growth, question is, how long will you stay where you're at, before you start to push towards it?

...or the relationship will be an expression of aliveness.... This is a wonderful thing.. I can resonate with the questioner. In me is a presence when loneliness shows up and a I can sit with it ( sometimes it's very challenging) and, despite it, there is a deep feeling of the need to sharing life with another. To dance it. And there is the missing, somehow. And that's a wonderful desire from my heart.

I feel so sad listening to this young man and Tolle's response. I feel if Tolle had just met him where he is(without any judgement) this young man could have woken on the spot his heart was just so OPEN. Listening to him I felt the Q wasn't that different to the zen story Tolle tells of the zen master and the mountain stream, the young man just needed a pointer towards the fullness of his experience rather than looking for the nothingness in it. Of course Tolle is AMAZING and his response as always was empathic but I just felt this young man wasn't that far off of what he is searching for and as Tolle himself says we don't all need to suffer to awaken . This young man like us all just needs to take one step towards surrender (and stop seeking nothingness) and to realise that the loneliness he feels as we all feel is the separation from whole . I have absolutely no doubt looking at him that he is already where he wants to be he just needs to wake up and celebrate his good fortune not go looking for suffering to awaken. I so wish Tolle had just said (as Jesus would have done, and I am not in any way a Christian) "don't seek nothingness BE the wholeness that you already are. "

Anyone have any insights/ opinions on how to deal with a new self after truly feeling the moment for the first time in a long time? I feel like in these moments I no longer worry about anything, and in that, I don’t feel like “myself” which is freeing and scary. It’s like in peace I don’t know how to operate or respond to people because what I usually say I don’t desire to and I almost have nothing to say.
