    Love this placement of the panel, rather than standard at the bottom of the curtains. I have an ongoing project, our 100 year old house and it's a lot of work, but I gain a lot of wonderful ideas from your channel. So many projects to choose from but I think I will tackle the fireplace surround, feature wall and these curtains next. Thank you so much.

    I love how you've customized the curtains with fabric. I thought of doing this too as I was having difficulty finding long curtains. I finally found 95 inch long ones that I like and am now trying to install hardware. I've hit something hard before drilling the holes long enough (not sure if it's metal or concrete/cinder block). I need to figure out how to fully install curtain hardware before I can steam and hanging the curtains. Any suggestions?

    Really wanted to learn this but you left out some important steps..or I couldn't hear you.. how wide is your original drapes? How much did you add to the each side/why? When you were sewing, (mike died) it looked like you did not have the two fabrics together on one side (the blue was not directly aligned with the print)..why? I hope you answer. THX.

    Thanks for detailing this project you created. You said you determined how far down on the curtain to start the insert. It looks great! I’m curious to how you made the determined for why at that height? What were your other considerations (if any)? Is there a reason to do it alternatively top, middle, bottom design-wise?

  • @designedtothenines

    @designedtothenines

    4 жыл бұрын

    I chose to line the top of the fabric insert up with the top of the slider door… And I didn’t want to add it to the bottom because I didn’t want it to look like my curtains were too short and I just added fabric but it was more intentional. I hope that makes sense. So you want to hang your curtains about 3 inches below the ceiling height so you have room for your finials from your curtain rod. And then I would line the top of your fabric insert with the top of your window or wherever you’re placing it. I hope that helps!

    Designed to the Nines Thank you for the thoughtful reply! I’m especially impressed you responded so promptly to an older video.
