You have encouraged me to build my own. - Unfortunately I have no tools or machine except pliers & hammer but I am still determined. - I stayed till the end every time I watched your video - Me & my Dad love those who build stuff, like we do with whatever tools we have! - Sending my best wishes from India!!

@@PatrickRemington I got it with front end collision (basically just plastic bumper damage) so I'm currently working on getting a winch bumper made and light solutions. The roof rack is similar in design from factory as the 4runner so I'm going to try and get a rack built like yours (just gotta work around the sunroof) and add some basic rock sliders, then it's on to lift kit and bigger wheels and tires. Just kinda all the basics needed to really do some overland camping for now. Long term I'll go engine swap and solid axle with lockers along with a body lift and step up tire size again. Somewhere in there get some on board air and dual battery setup. It's my daily so I'm not looking to gut the interior, but still deciding on either roof top tent or like an annex off the hatch to camp in the interior. Lots of decisions along the way. It's currently pretty much stock besides some spot lights, tires, high output alternator, and a roof basket. Few trips I've had it on in the Washington mountains it's done great though. Definitely on par or better than the typical Tacoma's or jeeps I go out with as far as off-road capability goes. Only place it lacks is aftermarket support.

Every time you did a test fit with it sandwiched between the hood and hinge, I was like "come on!". The end was a pleasant surprise haha.
Currently camping out of my '01 Sierra just about every weekend and building as I go for my level/style. Realized last weekend that I definitely need more lights but hadn't planned out how to mount them, I now know the direction I'm going to be looking.. Stumbled onto your channel looking for awning ideas, found them as well. Definitely appreciate you and the fab work you put into it all. Keep up the solid work!!

Pretty sure I'll try something like this on my FJ. Nothing worse than the current solutions that use the side cowls to mount a bracket under. Once you pop them off, even with replacement clips, they never stay on well after that. Thanks as always. I love the ideas and they are a great inspiration!

Ha! 13:55 is totally me. Found your videos a week-10 days ago regarding 270 awnings. Liked the way you show and explain things so I subscribed. Glad I did. While I don't have a need of ditch lights (yet), I find learning techniques are never a waste of time. The desire to learn welding goes back to mid-70s high school when girls couldn't take shop.
