So much negativity about your choice in cross stitch patterns. I don't really understand why it's necessary to comment negatively on your own personal designs when that is not even the point of this video. Thanks for the tips, this gave me a starting point to start making some of my own.

If I make the design online, do I just print it on regular paper? And then how do I do the stitch?

Yes, you can just print it :) best with a color printer so it's easy to follow. The way I do it is I start in the center of a pattern on the center of my canvas so it's all nicely centered. You start with the first (center) stitch and then just count how many stitches in what color you have to make. Every square from your pattern is one cross on your canvas. I don't know if what I'm saying makes any sense to you, it's called counted cross stitch, so you can look it up if you have doubts :)

Is there a way to attach cross-stitch to other fabric? Like, use it as a patch or something?

I made a video about making a cross - stitch patch :) but it's small, so if you want to sew a big panel on something, I'd fold all the edges under to hide all the raw edges and top stitch it :)

I can't say for all the software out there, but when you use the one I do you own your designs and can do with them whatever you want, including selling :)
