NobleGangsta13 that’s good news I’m still shocked how much difference it’s made 🤓🤙
I had the same problem with my pump. I ended up putting washing up sponges around it and then put it inside a small bottle. It's now silent and fixed in place well. It makes such a difference
My 1989 florida had diesel heater from factory. Pump was under van. I owned the van for 10 years - pump never failed. So its not an issue. I replaced the internal thimble filter in the pump and it was the original pump too. . Also the pump was hung under van with a rubber hanger like two black bands, one shorter than the other which kept the pump at the correct angle. But really quiet it was.
This guy is so lovable I don't know how anyone can not like him. A great Channel thanks

What I did was bought a water proof camera case with he foam inside, lined the box with audio sound damper mat, punched.out the foam in the center to form fit to the pump with a solid price both in front and behind the pump, it is virtually no noise from the pump now
Thanks Mel, I’ll defo be copying that when I get my heater and fit it.
I thought of suspecting the pump somehow, certainly it was in the thinking stage, but you did an amazing job finding the cure all to eliminate noise on a cheap easy fix. Thanks for that!

Thank you 😊 stay safe out there 👍
Pump vibration has always been a problem for RV'ers (especially water pumps), so proper mounting is critical. My only suggestion to add is that if space allows it to line the cabinets containing noisy accessories with 1" rockwool panels or sound-deadening foam. Thicker 2" lining is better if space isn't a concern.
Fabulous idea and it works 😄

Nice one it does the trick☺
I just installed a diesel heater in a caravan and so far the pump is not noticeable from inside and infact hard to even hear outside and the way I did the install I think just might have solved the pump noise and that is I cut a strip of rubber from an old thick mud flap bolted one end to the wooden floor of the caravan then bolted the pump in its own rubber mount to the other end of the rubber strip so it was hanging free but not so free it would move around. By NOT mounting any of the fuel line or pump to any metal under the van but to the timber floor insulated it from transmitting sound. Works for me

I tried suspending the pump between two brackets with a piece of elastic between, but didn't make much difference, so i abandoned a similar spring idea. Part of the problem is the noise travels down the tubing. Might have been better if the tubing was all rubber fuel hose. On ebay it's cheap enough. For now just wrapped load of insulation around it. Was tempted to just chuck it and the filter inside the tank. A good start point is to just hold it up in the hand and see how noisy it is.

Hi. You could yous a bit of bungee to suspend the pump, even less noise transfer. Cheers, Jim.
@BigVanSmallWorld

That’s a great idea 👍
It is pratically good idea to have a box to be insulated with foam inside with a door before suspending the noisy device. It would be a perfect heater working hard for most of your outdoor winter trips. The controllable outdoor fresh air supply should be connected to emerge into one duct with return room air back to the heater for reheating. Thus the system will be more economical and contributing a much reliable heater .

I have seen the pump for a bunk heater slung with a 1" section of about 3" hose. Hose screwed to bunk, pump bolted to hose.
Nice effort, best way is to mount them is in a rubber type spider web, also good to suspend the fuel hoses as it can tick tick on any hard surface..Also to note which may have been mentioned hang them vertical...The angle instruction was copied from the original Ebersprecher manual by the Chinese as they are knockoffs, the original was because of their small filter and the angle was needed. These Chinese knockoffs dont have this tiny filter ( bigger filter is actually better) so they should be mounted vertical to avoid the air bubble build up and wear, notice by the sound they should tick not tack...

I vented 2 windows and stayed for about 7 nights while running this. The first night, I could hardly sleep. A diesel heater- what could go wrong? lol. Did not want to die from fumes but surprisingly, my small opening of both side of the window gave me enough courage to sleep and every night after the 3rd, I went to sleep with no worries. 2nd night, the clicking woke me up. Did some research and that is just the tiny pump pumping the fuel to the heater. After I understood those noises were normal, I was a little bit more calm but now, I feel like there should be a way to keep the noise down a bit which is what brought me here to the video My Webasto diesel does keep it toasty and I am thankful for that. Fuel lasts a long time. Came to this video trying to find a way to make it quieter and saw your post. Thanks, Mel, for the tip and Adventure Ways- you will be fine AND Warm.
I have had a brain wave and will experiment tomorrow. Just bought two stainless vacuum flasks from the Range with a neck big enough for the pump and pipes to fit in. One is the traditional type, the other is a jug. Without ruining the caps i will initially use some card and tape to block off with insulation inside the flask. Just tried dropping a mobile phone on ringer inside, quite substantial drop in sound. If it doesn't work, i will just take them back.
