nice idea , ok for a tempory set up but the steel bolts willget pretty hot because of "eddie current losses" in the steel , thats why laminated insulated pieces are used infactory produced xformers. Also I have used the masking tape insulation and it will dry out after a few years and loose its adhesion properties.very old military style equipment was dipped in shellaic , works excellent until it becomes brittle and flaky but that takes a couple decades.Tnx for vid!🧲🔧🔩👍🧪📚🆒😎

Great demonstration as a proof of concept but I hope no one tries to replicate this idea. The voltage isolation is virtually non existant on the mains live side. The secondary wire is too thin. Prolonged use will result in the whole assembly becoming hot due to eddy current losses. Basically this proves that it is possible to build a home made transformer from unlikely materials if nothing else is available.

At 240 volts it burns out the insulation will not withstand the voltage of the secondary coil. The transformation coefficient is increasing and equal to 10. If the input is 24 volts then the output is 240 volts. At this voltage, the insulation of the transformer will not withstand. Therefore, the author uses 7 volts.

In the early 1900s, Nikola Tesla's friend Alfred M. Hubbard developed a free energy transformer that could tap into an unlimited source of energy from the environment. The device was small and simple enough to be installed in a car, boat, or plane, and it could provide power for an indefinite period of time. Hubbard's free energy transformer was based on Tesla's theory of rotating magnetic fields, and it utilized principles that are still used in modern electric motors and generators. Although Hubbard's invention was not widely accepted at the time, it is now being revisited as a potential source of free energy.

In making this transformer you used far more copper than required for the primary coil. You used really thick wire for the primary 0.25mm is too thick for the primary. I doubt whether the transformer will draw more than even 1 amperes at the primary. Not only that it will become really very inefficient at 50 Hz as there will be huge eddy current losses and if any significant current would be drawn at the secondary for a minute it would burn the insulation of the wires and the transformer would ultimately become short and not work at all.

You’d expect 22V out. (1500 turns/150 turns) but I guess there’s efficiency losses because it’s home made and all that. Unless the turns were ‘ballparked’ - sure 150 no problem- but me counting to 1500 is unlikely. Besides, I’d have gotten out my power drill and done it that way- Still interesting. Do you need the bolts around it? Or was it just supposed to be protection?

I would just wind it once and measure the length of that. After that I would multiply that by the number of turns i want and cut it and get a motor/drill to do the job. It would be slightly less, given the circumference changes if i am making more layers so i will cut it a meter longer to balance it out.

@@westelaudio943 Your correct if your thinking about energy. One can not turn 1 watt second into 500 watt second because there is no free energy. But, the question was can you convert 1 watt ac to 500 watt ac, rather than watt seconds. One can rather easily convert an average 1 watt into momentarily thousands of watts, but it involves storing energy. Here is how it can be done. The following is a circuit simulator simulating 60 hz at 1.2v ac rms with a steady state consumption average of a few tens of miliwatts. Yet interrupting the current causes an inductive spike that momentarily discharges several hundred watts through a spark gap Adjust the simulation speed as necessary to observe the spike in the spark gap. www.falstad.com/circuit/circuitjs.html?cct=$+1+5.000000000000001e-7+7.010541234668786+52+5+50%0AR+496+288+496+256+0+1+60+1.7+0+0+0.5%0A178+592+288+688+288+0+1+2+-0.00038043073291320014+0.001+1000000000+0.000002+20%0Ag+592+336+592+368+0%0Ag+720+368+720+384+0%0Ar+592+320+544+320+0+100%0Al+720+304+720+368+0+0.0045000000000000005+-0.16994218006044717%0Aw+688+304+720+304+0%0Aw+720+304+720+240+0%0Aw+592+288+592+240+0%0A187+592+240+720+240+0+10000+10000000000+2+3000%0Ac+496+320+544+320+0+0.1+0.0016123810138488626%0Aw+592+288+496+288+0%0Aw+496+288+496+320+0%0A403+256+96+944+160+0+9_2_0_4355_10240_0.4_1_2_9_3%0A403+256+160+944+224+0+9_2_7_4099_5_0.1_1_1_640%0A403+256+256+448+320+0+0_256_0_20483_2.5_1.6_1_2_0_3%0A403+256+320+448+384+0+0_256_7_20739_160_0.4_1_1_2.5%0A403+768+256+944+320+0+5_256_0_4099_10240_1.6_0_2_5_3%0A403+768+320+944+384+0+5_256_7_20739_5_0.1_0_1_640%0Ax+340+401+388+404+4+14+5ms/div%0Ax+821+398+869+401+4+14+5ms/div%0Ax+525+244+577+247+4+14+20%C2%B5s/div%0A

@@MistressKuroko The metal or core as such is meant to essentially guide the magnetic flux lines from what I understand. Often they use iron, as it's good for that. Basically you will notice in transformers, that there is an area of metal inside the transformer, then another more on the outside, both are part of the same metal piece. I believe it helps guide the magnetic field of the primary winding out to the secondary winding essentially. And the problem with this video here, is that this guy didn't have one piece of metal, he instead used literal super glue to join the outside metal piece to the inside one, they should be one piece of metal, not bits glued together. If you want to make your own transformer, either pull one apart and simply rewind it to your own needs. Or if you have to make a totally homemade one, get 4 pieces of metal and screw them together to make a square shape, add a few layers to make sure it's about 1cm thick, then from here you can make windings on both sides.

@@ziongite Inventor Alfred M. Hubbard developed a "free energy" transformer that could allegedly extract energy from the atmosphere. Despite this, Hubbard continued to work on his transformer until his death in 1965.
