As a graphic designer with about 8 years of working with photoshop, I'm gonna leave some tips based on what I saw in the video. I like to help newcomers and I love Zach's videos. Btw, I will be using official [terms] so you can look this stuff up for tutorials. 1. Don't do 2.5 x 3.5. Add a [bleed]. It's extra space for when you cut (fill it with your border color). That way you don't have white lines on the edges. Do 2.75 x 3.75, keep your art the same size, but make the border thicker, and cut that quarter of an inch off. You can print bleed marks to guide your cutting, too. Set up bleed in new document window (or document setup if you're already started). 2. Print from photoshop. You can change the size on the page as needed and tile different documents. Printing from word will mess with the resolution of the document (bad). You want resolution to be consistent. If not, parts will look pixelated. 3. You can paint on the background layer because it's the default ackground layer. It's meant to be temporary. Any other locked layer will not let you paint on it. 4. Don't use [opacity] for transparency. Use [fill] (right below). Opacity will make the colors weaker. 5. Instead of eyeballing everything, I recomend turning a [grid] on. It helps A LOT. View > extras > grid. Settings can change the grid too. You can also turn on [rulers] in that same menu. You can even drag a [guide] from a ruler to help. Guides do not print. 6. Rather than erasing, i recomend using the [lasso tool] for cutting backgrounds. The normal lasso tool can be a pain, but the magnetic is useful. The polygonal lasso tool is my favorite. Slow, but looks a lot better than the magic wand. 7. You're absolutely right to use [curves] to edit the image. Try [levels], too. Similar, but different. [Hue/saturation] for color. Be sure to lock any layers you don't want effected, though. These tools applies to all of them. 8. Instead of cutting off the edges of the art, just make use of layers. You can make the rectangle have no color (revealing what's under) and give it a big stroke (edge) to hide everything else. Lots of cool stuff you can do with layers. Opens up possibilities you might not gave thought of otherwise. 9. DON'T USE JPEG. You lose information every time you move a JPEG. Use PDF instead. It keeps everything and can transfer into almost any program. TIFF is another good one, but not many programs can use it. 10. Again, you can tile files on a document in photoshop when you print. No need to use word. Avoid it, actually. Word sucks. 11. Because you mentioned [raster] images, let me clarify. A raster image is made of pixels. Photoshop loves pixels. The rectangle tool makes a [vector] image. Vector images aren't actually there. This is useful. If you [scale] a raster image up, it will pixelate. But, no matter how big a vector gets it will ever do that. I'm happy to answer any questions! I can help you solve issues in your documents too. Not just on photoshop, but most programs for design/art.

@@ali_rc3 sorry, just now got this reply notification. Actually, i didn't get a notification for any of these replies until now oddly enough. To clarify, you can tile multiple documents. So, save the card as a Psd, Tiff, PDF, or PNG and duplicate it 8 times (in file explorer/finder). Then go to photoshop > file > automate > contact sheet > select all your files and the page dimensions. You'll probably have to tinker a little bit. Most printers aren't going to fit 9 cards on a standard page so you'll have to mess with it to your liking. This will open a document that you can print like normal.

A special fan-made set would be pretty cool. You could run a create a card contest and select cards to create a mini set. Sorry if I seem impacient for the next contest. I was really close to winning last time and am determined to get a card in the game.

I know that’s why I do it and also you can make card games on tablet or iPad or a phone using the stuff on the computer it’s neet and not as complex

this looks amazing! do you perhaps also know how to create a foil/holo layer to put on top of the card? In my tcg i have SC, C, U, R, SR and SSR cards. R (rare) are all SC - U cards, but stronger and with foil layer. Or, well, they're supposed to be but I can't figure it out. And SR and SSR are supposed to get foil/holo layers as well.

Thanks! Unfortunately no - you could make a new layer on your photoshop file for foil but unless you have a special printer at home or contact a special printing service i don’t think you’d be able to get foil cards :(

Nice job man! I use Google Drawings to work on mine, but this is obviously the better choice by a long shot. My main problem is that Google isn't compatible with itself, so I have to convert every single card into a PNG manually and then put them in a Google Doc. Like wtf Google. EDIT: Never mind I literally just figured it out after posting this. You can't choose "Image" you have to choose "Drawing" on the Insert tab. Ugh why do I make my own problems.

You can get photoshop on your phone, but it's mostly for picture editing. If you have an ipad you could likely do it.

You're likely using the pen tool in illustrator. Photoshop has it, too. If you're not, you should probably be in photoshop anyway. It has more editing abilities for anything pixel-based. You can always export as a PDF or TIFF and put it into photoshop, though.

Just watched the videos, thanks for supporting the game! Really great to see your reactions to getting some of the cards you wanted out of the Battle Box! Frustrating about the Limited editions and Warrior who looks pretty powerful but isn't but that's just the luck of the packs! Great openings overall though, thanks for uploading the videos :)

After a little bit I grow to like the limited edition cards and the warrior that look really powerful but isn’t I like to try to find A way to make him use full like you could use him with swirl pool and if you could change his type in you hand you could combo him with the green plantet BTW I’m sad that my comments are off on those videos
