How To Make Tomato Pie
It's that time of year we've all been waiting for! Tomato Season is finally here!
TOMATO PIE is the perfect summertime treat!

Ingredients
2 LG ripe tomatoes cut into 1/4 inch slices
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 cups shredded cheese
1 TSP onion powder
Dash of cayenne pepper
Fresh chopped Basil
1 par baked 9" regular pie crust
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Place sliced tomatoes onto paper towels to blot out excess liquid. Sprinkle with salt. Allow tomatoes to sit at least 15 minutes before using.
Place tomatoes into a par baked pie shell. Layer all the way to the top.
Mix together mayonnaise, cheese and seasoning. Place on top of the tomatoes and spread evenly over tomatoes. Pie should be piled high. It will settle during cooking time.
Preheat oven to 350 F°. Cook pie for approximately 30-40 minutes or until cheese mixture is bubbly and melted all the way through.
Allow pie to rest at least 15 minutes before serving. This gives everything a chance to settle.

Thank you for the great explanation during the video that other videos lacked. I appreciate the little details such as how its ok to pile the tomatoes pretty high because they will cook down. And also the amount of tomatoes to use because I was'nt sure how many to use.

Looks so good 😊. I have already ate tomato sandwiches. I love them , but only if the tomatoes are from a produce stand. Not from the grocery store. 🍅😊

I've never used a deep dish for this recipe. The ingredients and cooking time would definitely need adjusting
