Thanks for the kind mention, I’m making some progress on my illness, they have given me vitamin B12 and folic acid treatment and I will have to have an endoscopy soon (I hope it isn’t a GoPro!) other than that, I’m investigating a new bike! Keep the Rob stories coming! They have been giving me such a giggle when I need it most! ❤

A remap will cure all, far better than a booster plug. It will run better throughout the rev range.

@@2wheeledwillie395​​⁠ Yeah, but it’s the proper way to do it. It won’t just sort the snatchy throttle, it will improve the bike everywhere. Combine a remap with the X Pipe, and your bike will come alive. It will run so much better.

A couple others things that could help with low speed management on the Bonnie which are more cost effective; throttle spacer... cheap but works really well and a different tooth rear sprocket

I bought a Booster Plug for my BMW r1100rs and found it made little difference to the running of the bike,i later rechipped the bike and it made a difference,i think the answer this issue is to try it and see,i personally enjoy your wee stories.

@@2wheeledwillie395 No I didn't fit to my T120, just assumed it would be the same for the 120 as the Speed Twin, but maybe not, made a huge difference on my 1260 Ducati! there is talk of turning off the traction control, and that helps a lot, but not ideal

Great advice on the booster plug, I had forgotten about those! I’ve heard good things about them in the past.

Hi Willie, good luck with the booster plug and keep the Rob stories coming. I picked up my brand new T120 black yesterday and I absolutely love it. Early days I know, but getting rid of it for the slightly snatchy throttle would be like dumping Cindy Crawford 'cos she has a little mole

I have the new generation T120 and I find it a lot less stuttering and jerk in low revs than my 2018, T120. Some people have had luck in the booster plug and some haven’t. Also in my previous T120 I installed a K & N air filter. That made a big difference. Let us know how you get on Willie. Cheers.

@@2wheeledwillie395 Actually a good question you ask. I didn’t, but I found the K & N filter made a big difference. What I’ve found is some say it did and others say it didn’t. Looking forward to finding out what works for you. Willie. Varying results depending on who one talks to. But yes I know the feeling in slow traffic, it’s very annoying and you don’t know what gear you want.

Hello bud, l fitted one to my Bonnie and it definitely improved things but it's not perfect, don't forget to run the bike from cold until the fan cuts in after you fit the plug 👍

Hopefully the plug sorts it. I did have a 900 Triumph twin and I remember this was a bit snatchy in traffic so you had to feather the clutch in 2nd. Apparently, Triumph said this was due to the torque of the engine, but I reckon it was also to do with leaner running at low rpm.

My Honda crf300L was awfully snatchy in 1st and 2nd. I spent hundreds on a ECU reflash which made it slightly better but still horrible. My new Royal Enfield Classic 350 is really nice as stock.

You’re right, it’s not just the T120 many other 2 cylinder bikes do this. My new T120 I don’t notice it that much.

@@johnmartin7158 I think its the EU emissions settings and electronic fuel injection. Any throttle down shuts off fuel completely, unlike old carb bikes.

Willie try the 350 bullet as well as the shot gun. It looks fantastic and really comfortable. Took a demo one at and it rides lovely. 😊

I've got a booster plug on my 1200 Scrambler and have never noticed any snatchy throttle, I put in on when I was still running it in, and the bike's done 13k miles. The x pipe will make it sound better and run cooler, but it's a right pain in the arse to fit!!

People have had good results from a booster plug. But my "old mechanic's head" still thinks it's a bit of a bodge - akin to leaving the choke out a bit (if you're old enough to remember those 🤔😂). But, for how much it cost and how easy they are to fit surely it's worth a go? Let us know how you get on Willie 👍

I think a lot of modern bikes suffer because of emissions and noise laws. It's the only explanation I can think of as to why a company would produce a bike that needs any remapping or messing with the electronics controlling the fuel injection. I'm not going to pretend I know what this "booster plug" does but from a brief look, it sounds almost like it does what an open choke would do and run the bike richer, idling higher, giving you a smoother progression up the revs. But also be less fuel efficient and put out more exhaust fumes. I'm curious to see how it goes for you, since I know other bikes suffer from similar/the same problem of snatchyness.

@@2wheeledwillie395 Not done anything to the fueling or throttle. Did replace the front springs with progressives and the rear shockers with Hagons as Triumph must have spent £3.50p on the suspension. She is so well planted now in comparison its unbelievable.
