HOW TO MAKE THE BEST FLANK STEAK SKEWERS- THE VIETNAMESE WAY
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This is one of my favorite recipes that my Mom makes...I have slightly changed it over the past two decades (she uses the white part of the green scallions, I prefer to use JUST the green part). It's so easy to make. I hope you try it. Please comment below. I'm excited to know your thoughts!!
YOU WILL NEED:
• FLANK STEAK
• 3 GREEN SCALLIONS
• 1/4 CUP SOY SAUCE
• 1/4 CUP SESAME OIL
• 1 TBSP GARLIC POWDER
• 1TBSP SUGAR
• CRACKED BLACK PEPPER
• METAL OR BAMBOO SKEWERS (SOAK IN WATER FOR AN HOUR)

Made this last night and it was not only easy and fun to make but delicious as well! The flavor was perfect!! The next day I sautéd the left over steak and added it to arugula to make a scrumptious salad! Thank you for an amazing recipe!! Can’t wait to see your other videos!

Valentina Gutchess BEER!! 🤣I refuse to drink beer out of a bottle or can🙄...I always pour it into a wine glass🤣🤣🤣 🤷🏻♀️ I love feeling FANCY! Make sure you whisk the soy sauce and sesame oil to where it’s the consistency of a salad dressing!! 😉 please comment how it turns out!!!

Most videos uses brown sugar is it OK if I use white sugar and olive oil instead of sesame oil
What is the grill's temp gauge read when you put the steaks on and where on the dial is it set to? Approximately, how much time per side are you shooting for?
@JulielinhMouret
4 жыл бұрын
Low Country hey there!! Thanks for asking! My dial is set to HIGH (DO NOT close the lid). I really love that charred look and flavor. The sugar helps to achieve this when it caramelizes over the high heat. I have only cooked on 1 grill (which was a “Viking”) where it got soooo hot that I had to turn the heat lower to Medium. Time wise, it’s hard to say because every grill is different. Start with 2 mins per side... if the meat comes off the grates easily, that’s a good sign... I like the flank steak skewers cooked to Medium... I usually love medium rare but on this particular recipe, Medium tastes the best, in my humble opinion.
Your kitchen is so clean for a moment I thought it was a green screen background!

Hi! Do you think i can cook this on stove in a cast iron grill skillet?
@JulielinhMouret

Great question, the liquid marinade would make it messy and not crisp like a grill. Maybe if you put it on a grill pan raised with a pan beneath to catch the juices it might work!

I don't know if this goes with this type of food but try adding some ginger to your rice cooker makes it a little different and interesting if you wanna make it a bit different.
