How to Make Superhero Chest Armor - Free Foam Templates - Red Hood Batman Cosplay - Part 1

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

How to Make Superhero chest armor out of Foam! I really wanted to have a generic chest armor template available so that people could customize it to make a variety of different characters like Batman, Gambit, Wolverine, and of course Red Hood. This chest armor is setup into modular pieces that can easily be customized to fit each individual maker. I do have free PDF templates of the chest armor available on my website if you'd like to make your own. In part 2 I will continue this build using panels for the back.

    Hey sks! I bought somw of your 10mm and 6mm HD foam. Any advice on how to cut thru the 10mm as easy as you do? Cant seem to stay on the outline i drew on the foam. It's high density for sure😅

  • @SKSProps

    @SKSProps

    18 күн бұрын

    Make sure you are constantly sharpening your knife after every few cuts. Foam dulls the blade very quickly so I use a kershaw knife sharpener all of the time. High density just means that it’s less porous, not a harder foam. Low density foam dulls the blades even quicker

    Damnit I did a tactical batsuit last year. Now I want to do another one. The pain of cosplaying. Jk. However I can see Wolverine with this or Dare Devil.

    Question: I'm wanting to cosplay the white Spiderman 2099 suit and wanted to know if you'd recommend your foam be used as the red armor details? Definitely don't want just a simple flat looking flexsuit😅

    Make sure to sharpen your blade as much as possible for a frictionless cut. Other than than it’s all about practice or if you plan on doing a lot of them invest in a bandsaw where you can change the angle of the table

    hi SKS Props I wanted to ask you a question. I see that both in the video and in the pdf, you express yourself in millimeters (mm). I wanted to know, the conversion in centimeters (cm) of how much it was, because I can not understand. A thousand thanks.

  • @SKSProps

    @SKSProps

    Жыл бұрын

    the mm just refers to the thichkness of the foam and almost all companies reagardless of location around the world will have it in mm not cm. so 10mm is approx 1/2" 6mm approx 1/4" etc

    Okay... question. PLA prints are not always practical. In theory high density or ultra high density foam would be a better more durable option in reality. Yes or no? I mean... a Batman suit in PLA can take 5 months to print without 3-4 machines. I have seen guys finish incredible things with foam in a months time with no stress. Suit of armor in a week. Perfectly scaled and no fuss.
