This is the best video for Spaetzle! Not to repeat myself. :-)... like her husband.
This is my go-to spaetzle recipe! Super simple, and absolutely delicious! I make mine as part of chicken spaetzle soup; once the chicken and veggies have simmered for a while and gotten good and tender, you just bring the broth up to a boil and start dropping spaetzles into it!
First sentence I heard: "YO WE GOING MAKE SOME SPAYTSUL.''
FINALLY!!!! A video that actually SHOWS the ingredients and how much to put in from what. Almost every video I saw the women just eyeball the ingredients, and do it so fast, you blink and you miss what just happened. Your video is sooo helpful for someone like me who needs the exact measurements. Thank you for your video!!!! Very helpful.

Spätzle you always make "PimaSchnauze" means if you have some left just freeze them and re-heat in boiling saltwater, but please never EVER add Milk and Water , you can calculate 1 cup of all purpose flour 1 egg per person add salt and that is IT.

Used this for my first time making spaetzle. It turned out perfect! And these two....🥰
this is the most adorable thing I have seen in a long time
I've had a spaetzle maker that I've been using for 30 years. My roomates very German mom bought it for me. I would highly suggest people invest in one. spaetzle is great browned with onion & butter, in chicken soup, with stroganoff, etc. It's our go to! Thanks for sharing, Noreen. I'm hopi.g thete is a recipe for your paprikash it looks amazing!
I received Birthday money from my sweet Mom-in-Law and immediately ordered a spaetzle maker and large strainer spoon from Amazon. They arrived today. Will post the results. Can't wait. Thanks for this video!
This is my favorite spaetzle recipe. I make this often.
Thanks for posting this Spaetzle is so expensive to buy in the store. The chicken gravy looks great too.
I don't understand everyone saying this isn't an "Authentic" German recipe. Every other recipe i've found is almost identical to this..... Love your video! Been using it for almost a decade now haha.
Got a Spaetzle maker for Christmas and haven't used it yet. This was very helpful. Thank you!
Thanks for the great video. I don't understand all the negative comments. Like one lady said, "cut the lady some slack".
As a person of germanic descent, I feel obliged to point out that this is not called "spate-sul" but it shoud be pronounced 'shpetz-luh".

the umlaut A is pronounced by shaping an A with your mouth but say an E. the TZL are grouped together because it is pronounced that way. No vowel sound between Z and L. The L is voiced. Z is pronounced like, "its" without the i.

This looks delicious, real comfort food. I'd love to try and make a sort of poutine with it.
I like her husband ....and her recipe, very informative
Thank you for going to all the trouble of making this very useful video.
This is the best video on youtube. Thank you for posting. I can't wait to make this. Gotta get a Spaetzle maker.

Her husband is so hungry. 😂 Seriously though this video was perfect. Just what I was looking for!
Love this, love the recipe and the presentation, it was like learning how to cook Spaetzl from my mom.
Thank you so much for this informative video. We were making the batter way too thick...almost like a pasta dough. It will help me prepare for our German-themed dinner!
I have the same spaetzle maker as the one you used and I like your recipe the best of all the ones we have tried. Excellent.
You have simplified my Haluski making. Thank you
Thank you. I have that Spaetzle maker. I forgot to spray it down when I made Spaetzle this week. Thank you
I've never used that many eggs in mine, but the structure/shape of yours look perfect...I'm definitely trying your recipe, thanks!
Oh my gosh thank you so much. We've been trying to use our knephla dough recipe to make this and it has never worked. You saved our dinner.
This looks delicious. I'll make sure to watch this video again when I try to make spaetzle. :)
Hi there , that's a very similar recipe to what my Hungarian father used to make called "Nokedli". He used to put the dough on a chopping board and chop into the hot water. The spaetzle maker makes it much easier, I'll have to try and get one and do it that way instead. We would normally have it with Paprika chicken or Potata, but again sort of similar to your chicken dish. Thanks :)
great video. my parents were both stationed in Germany and i ended up being born in Frankfurt. most of my childhood was my mom trying to make some of the things they had when they were over there, namely schnitzel. never had spaetzle though and hoping to try it soon
I love this couple!
Thank you very much for the instructional video on making spaetzle. I found it very helpful. I however made my first spaetzle last night before watching your video, the spaetzle was wonderful but the mess I made was horrific, my wife is still laughing at me. I hope you ignore the grammatical corrections above, say it however you wish and keep posting helpful and wonderful videos! Enjoy

Great video - covers everything. Food network has a herb spaetzle recipe and Bed, Bath and Beyond has the spaetzle maker for $7. Target has one at a higher price. I don't know which one is better. I used a sieve as recommended by the food network because I didn't have the maker and spent a tremendous amount of time and effort getting the dough to go through little holes, but it was tasty. I also tried to use my kitchen aide mixer with the old version of the kitchen aide spaetzle attachment and that is not a good idea. The noodles clumped together. The new kitchen aide attachment costs more than a real spaetzle maker so I'm headed out to BB&B. These noodles are very good and I love her idea for the gravy topping.
OMG the squeaking when you stirred... it killed me
Das ist alles schön erklärt.
Great video, that looks like the real deal!
Good recipe! You sure shut your hubby up ...twice! Poor bugger he just wants to eat.
Let me help you ;) Sp in Southern Germany is always pronounced sh like in the "BAD" word and the ä like the "e" in "get"! shpätzLe. :D thanks for the recipe, thou, I like to share it with my American friends a lot.

Candace Dainty no she isn’t, that’s how you say it in german. the lady said “spätzle” how it looks, as saying it in german can be difficult for americans to pronounce
Awesome video! It is short and sweet and explains everything out in detail! Well done!
Thats a much neater way to do it than what I do and im German he he! :) I think Ill use your way now!
Thanks for this video. I need to adjust my dough to runny for next attempt.
I liked this video very much! We put salt in it as well.. 😍❤️
Thanks, very helpful.
I enjoyed watching your video!
Mmmm! I can almost chew them in my mind!! I will bring over a cold Warsteiner minikeg next time you whip up a batch! Like the Chnöpfli my Swiss/Basque grandma used to make with the very simple recipe, (but she would rinse them with water, and no butter).
I should have watched this before I tried it. For one my dough was way too thick. I didn't spray oil on anything. I ended up putting the dough on a cutting board a ended up cutting way too thick pieces. So, it was a disaster...LOL Thanks for your video 😀
Wonderful, thanks!
Another amazing thing to do is saute' the spätzle in butter with onions, add some cheese of your liking, and you have Käsespätzle mit Zwiebel, an amazing side to wiener schnitzel
I completely agree!
I might give this recipe a try and get the maker. All the ones ive made in the past are not runny enough to go through the grate holes.
Thank you so much!
I can't wait to try this. Oh! Where do I get a Spaetzle maker?
Mushrooms are a spore like yeast. Mom gave me one of these for Christmas. Always wanted to try it vs spoon making a batch
That’s a pretty cool tool for making this dish...
how many persons does this recipe serve? great meal by the way and easy to cook, by the look of it! great video, thanks for that!
Thank you for this recipe! My friend in Germany just sent me her recipe and I was afraid I'd have to figure out how much 250 grams offf flour is.
looks good
I did it..but didn't have that grater thingy. Did it by hand on a flat cheese grater. Came out delicious. Used only 2 eggs though. Very yummy and perfect. Moist and dense.

Thank you !!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 😋 Thank you, darling!⚘😘
Fantastic demo - thanks for uploading. Just a pity about the low resolution of the video.
Perfect
Love the accent! Spatuler!
I made some today and had big time trouble pressing these. I'm buying a maker right now. My mom used to make goulash and spaetzle and since I just figured out how to make perfect goulash I just needed some spaetzle. I was sick of potatoes.
Thank you and God bless
Most everyone seems to call the mixture a dough, when it is more correctly a batter.
My mom would just make the dough and just spoon in bite size pieces some were bigger yum yum
Where did you get the spaetzle maker from, that's fantastic.
That was great! I don't think I can make it though as I don't have any milk. I need to find some water dumplings lol

Phylis Stokes made hers with water and they turned out great. She didn't use a spetzla maker tho. plus she added a couple spices.
Thanks for the video, I wasn't spraying the gizmo so maybe that would help... because it was a mess! Recipe is a bit different from my Aunt's so I will give this one a try.

Yes, definitely spray the gizmo - so much easier..
you can use a Food Mill to cut the dough or a ricer.
You must use extra large eggs. Mine was a bit dryer than yours. I have chickens so have my own eggs. Not sure how big they are but they must be a medium to large egg. I'll try adding 5 eggs next time. Love the King Arthur flour spoon/whisk. I may have to order one of those if they have them online.

use the spatchular on the spatesul batta. But seriously, I am getting one of those tools.
"YOU DON'T HAVE TO REPEAT ME HONEY." hahahahahaha. Followed by crickets mostly but some heavy breathing can be heard. Narrator voice: "She then proceeds to repeat herself." "You don''t have to get too close honey."
Just a tip only flour egg and salt and your Spātzle are perfect
YUM I want to make this and put my chick'n piccada on top of it! :) That's tonight's dinner
do you have to use that much salt? would it still come out properly without that much?

+Fernando Ramos My moms best friend married a German chef who taught her how to make this and gave her a press(Were French Acadien not german) and I've had these for year. Traditionally you toss them in butter in a pan and can eat them like that or in a casserole layered with carmelized onions and cheese. The non traditional thing that my mom does is when she does the casserole with Noodles, carmelized onions and mozzarella layered(traditionally you use Emmental) and then she makes a seafood sauce(White sauce base) and puts it on top. Its amazing. A few years ago my moms friends husband came back down to visit canada with his wife and forgot he gave her a press and gave her another one. I had been begging my mom to ask him to bring me a press for the longest time so I FINALLY got my own. Can't wait to make some for my husband tomorrow with the emmental and carmelized onions.
What exactly is a spatchuler?

Nice try, Lonnie, but I'm from New Hampshire and it's more like, "stott the kah whit ya kah keys" chowdah...we don't say "r's" at all and put "r's" at the end of words ending with "a"...like Visa is Viser, Christina is Christiner ...why, I have no idea!!!
