Metal kids and weeb kids were always one in the same. It took a Within Destruction album and a Bitterwood music video to expose it though.
I think Devourment deserve credit for not just playing Slam. Their first album set the blueprint but I'd say the rest of their discography is more varied Death Metal with plenty of slamming riffs. Honestly, Obscene Majesty was my favourite album of 2019.

Yes, I waited so long for this video! It is my favorite Death Metal subgenre.
Slam takes the heavy parts of deathcore and makes that the entire aesthetic. And I, for one, jam the fuck out to it.
Not sure how much overlap there is between hololive fans and people who like slam, but there's at least one person. Being me.

Highly recommend you consider the following genres: Skramz, Midwestern Emo, Power Violence, Post Rock, Math Rock, Emo Violence, etc. I think Skramz and Midwestern Emo would be the most interesting, and I am curious as to how you would write the music. If you want examples of Skramz, listen to Saetia - Some Natures Catch No Plagues. Good starting point. Skramz is still an incredibly underground genre and bigger KZreadrs talking about it would be cool.
