Hey I just wanted to say thankyou, I'm a 31 yr old male from Australia with 3 kids and watching your videos has inspired me so much, I've used sketchup and built a, sliding door and barn window for my single car space carport, and a solid workbench. Before watchin your videos i was always too worried to start due to perfectionist ideals, but watchin you and your casual approach and information it really inspired me to have a go. The only thing that stops me now is waiting for my pay to drop in so i can buy more wood. Thankyou so much, please keep doing what your doing, a true leader :)

Thank you! The most common fears new woodworkers face are uncertainty about gaining the necessary skills and the hesitation to try something that seems overwhelming. Sure, my goal is to teach basic woodworking, but really I want people to find the individual confidence and personal fulfillment that seems to be elusive these days. 👍

+1 35 yr old male with 2 toddlers also from Australia (Central Coast)! I used to watch Steve's videos when feeding our first baby at night and it inspired me to get into woodworking (I am at the office 9-5 otherwise). Now 2 years later I have a proper workshop and dozens of projects done from shop/outdoor stuff to fancy indoor furniture! Keep it up mate! Woodworking is so rewarding!

As for wood - check Gumtree or ask around constructions (they often give away free framing hardwood). I built my first BMW from that;)

I LOVE THE "REAL SPEED" BADGE SO MUCH!!!!!! My husband and I literally paused the video to go back and re watch the real speed sections because they are SO TREMENDOUSLY informative. The closest thing I have seen on any other channel is an indication of how quickly the footage has been sped up e.g. 15x. This is WAY better. Princess Meow Meow brought so much joy to so many people that she never even met. Thank you for including her in your videos - seeing Princess Meow Meow always makes me smile.

So sorry to hear of your cat’s passing. We lost a dog this week that was with us for 12 years. It wasn’t a surprise but the loss is real. As for the video, great job as always. Traditionally stiles run the entire height of a door and the rails are captured within the stiles, so if I were to make a similar door I would cut the half-laps on the opposite sides. I’ve been working in the cabinet industry for the last 20 years and have never gotten used to seeing mitered doors either. I know it’s a personal hangup of mine, but I’ve come to terms with it! Thanks as always for sharing, Scott

Easy to follow video. Should help anyone get up and running making Shaker style doors. Although, I kept waiting for the "whoops" about which face you were trimming. Then I saw you actually did place the stiles between the rails. I have usually seen the opposite configuration, where the rails are set between the stiles.

So many wonderful Princess Meow Meow moments. I was just watching a 2015 video, WHATEVER BECAME OF...?, Wyatt was filming & at 20:50 you guys walk in on her sleeping. I re-wound the video several times. She just blinked & looked like "there's my guys... Yep they love & worship me. And yep i love them too." So happy, so content she looked. And that's what i want for my family, the adults, kids, pets, i want them to wake up happy & content. I am so sorry your family has to feel this loss & yet i'm so glad you all had her with you to love so much & that she made such a huge impact that makes this such a loss. Thank you for sharing her with us. & for right now, while it's still so raw, i also want to say: Wow, this sucks! & it's not all right, it will never be ok(easier but never easy or ok) & it's not fair! But, we are all thinking of you!
