How to Make Simple Drawers! Ram ProMaster Van Build Conversion - Episode 19 | Jason Klunk
In this video I go over how to make cheap drawers. Even with a really bad table saw you can make some decent looking drawers for your van. I don’t have the tools for doing dovetail joints, so pocket screws were the next best thing.
In the next video I’ll go over my struggles with the rear walls, so stay tuned. Yewwwwwwwww!

The fact that you're using a Queen Herby song in your intro deserves a like by itself.

I just bought the same Ryobi table saw and am converting a 2018 Promaster 136. At its beginning stages 🤗

nice, good luck!
Hey Mate! Cool vids, they’ve given me some great ideas. Just curious how the push-to-open activates with drawer face on? No dramas?? Cheers man
Thank you for these great videos! I was wondering about your experience with the drawer sliders you have. I ordered the ones from Amazon and when the drawer is fully loaded and you make left and right turns they open. do the ones that you have stay closed? Thank you!
Love your videos Jason, I really appreciate them. Quick question on the bottom panel of the drawer. Why you chose to make a grove to slide the 1/4" bottom instead of just placing in at the very bottom and glue it or use a few screw? (BTW all Ikeas drawer I ever assembled has the same method) so there has to be some advantage.

It allows the bottom to float so it won't split when expanding/contracting from moisture. It's a personal preference too, glue or nails would work fine if you wanted to do that.
Very inspiring video. Really like the vibe. Question: Do you have any problems with drawers bursting open while driving? Are the slides strong enough to keep them close when loaded and on the road?

They do pop open every once in awhile. But for the most part I don’t have any problems.
Do you find yourself hooking things on the drawer pulls? Seems like in tight quarters of the van you would want lower profile and nothing that has a protruding end to hook clothes or bag straps as you move about. Or maybe you wanted to be able to hook things on them for different purposes? I have really been enjoying your cabinet build videos as I am getting ready to do custom cabinets for our travel trailer remodel.

Thanks. Every once in awhile I catch something, but it's not really a big deal. We do hang stuff from the drawer fronts every now and then as well.
just curious why you didn't push your drawer sliders back just a bit so you could have inset them a little wider, therefore making your drawer wider overall. You added those strips on either side but you then loose drawer space as a result...
Is there a reason you didn't do all the pocket holes on the outside of the drawers, so they'd be hidden behind the drawer fronts, as opposed to being visible on the inside of the drawers? Thank you for these videos. Getting ready to build cabinets for our camper soon, these are so helpful!

No reason, I messed that up! haha
Are the push to lock/unlock drawer slides holding up when the drawers are full loaded? They don't slide open when you make hard right or left turns with the van?
Did you make or buy the faceplate that was then attached to the drawer?

I made them. I’ll have a video up soon where I show how to build those as well.
How did you do the face of the drawer?

😂 most of my build was done in my front yard. I didn’t even have a garage for most of it.
