I used to work for a Russian chef. He used to prepare peljmeni as Tatyana does. But sometimes he used to deep fry it instead of boiling. The deep fried peljmeni was a great hit.

Fried pelmeni is a Chebureki

@@zigzag7823 it is not cheburek. Cheburek is about the size of a pastry Pelmeni is too small to be cheburek. Although i will admit it does taste exactly the same as chubrek

I can't help but watch videos of foods I'm eating... I'm eating a plate of pelmeni now and watching videos like this makes it taste even better. I hope that doesn't sound weird but thanks for the video.

You're amazing! Thank you for the recipe!!
Super talented as usual ,thanks for the recipe :)
My wife cooks them with a few chicken cubes in the cooking water... I'm not sure I heard if you said to boil them until they float... Anyway, you make them and cook them pretty much identical to my wife oh, except we have a pelmini iron where you lay the dough over it, spoon the meat in, then put another sheet of dough over the top, then use a rolling pin and it cuts out maybe 20 at a time. Works real slick. Cuts and seals at the same time!!! Great video! kudos from Texas USA
I've made these with my Russian friend before but with her recipe from her mother. The main difference is she puts celery, carrot, cabbage and dill into the mix. Its always delicious

I like these with just butter and black pepper. I think, 10 minutes to cook it's a bit too long, they might be tough at the end. they look very good though ,appetizing

At beginning she said "its easy", then at the end she said, "all the work we did wasn't for nothing" 😅😂 I love pelminis I used to buy an order of pelmini in Juneau, AK. Every night faithfully they made Amazing pelminis simply THE BEST! Im not in AK anymore, but I still crave the pelminis from this place, they close around 3am. They are located at the Hangar mini mall. Im planing on moving back to Juneau and just stay there till my last days. I ❤️ ALASKA

instead of dressing, try eating them with ketchup. That's by far my most favorite way to eat them. Just dip each piece you eat in a bit of ketchup before putting it in the mouth.

@Suyamu

Do you put all of them in that bowl and eat it like a soup, or do you mean a small bowl for dipping them in? I've never tried ketchup and broth before - gotta give it a go some time. If you ever eat Manti, try eating them with a mix of half ketchup half sour cream (smetana).

Ákos Szőllősi HOW? (If you really want to try to try pelmeni, you can put in dough 1 or 2 or 3 eggs or can do dough without egs. Also you can put there milk, buttermilk or water. Also with meat you can experiment how you like. There isn't wrong or right recepie for pelmeni. In old Soviet Union's countries you can find many hundred differece pelmeni. I prefer Polish version- pierogi. And 2 eggs are just 2 eggs- no need for user manual.

That's not exactly how you make them. First of all, you don't cut the dough this way. And second, that's not how you form them. But to each is own. As long as they taste good none of this would matter :)
