Hello! My one cat has no teeth. Would it harm the raw food to blend it all? Does that break something down too much? I feel like the skins especially would do him in.

Been in such a sad situation in and out of the Pet ER , vet for my kitty who’s been blocked and had kidney stones removed . Spent thousands and hrs still blocked and miserable . The only thing getting me through these last few days was watching these videos and hoping for my baby to come Home so i can make all of this for home. I have everything in my amazon cart just waiting for the vets to give him back 😢

Im so glad I found you. Years ago, I learned to feed my doberman raw prey model and there was a HUGE improvement in his health...dandruff, dry skin, gunky eyes imediatly stopped and his coat and muscle tone was spectacular after only a couple of weeks on the raw diet opposed to a very "high quality"....meaning expensive kibble. I tried to get my middle aged cat on a raw prey diet and wasnt successful. I was also unsure of suppliments as well. He was addicted to the crappy wet stuff in the cans so I gave up and that's what he ate till he passed away at the age of 13....not very old for a cat and he was the love of my life. He had hyperthyroid towards the end and I feel guilty that I didn't get him on raw. That being said, its "kitten season" now and I plan to adopt a kitten from the local humane society in the next few weeks. Do you have any suggestions for raw kitten food?....Would the kitten thrive on the cat food recipe in this tutorial?...or is there more I need to know? Thanks in advance.

Hi Grace. Big Dukie was my daughters dog. A friend gave him to her and he was eating kibble. Then when she went off to college, he stayed home with me. I took him to the vets to be altered but the vet ran a blood test and said he had Van Willendorfs...a genetic bleeding disorder and she wouldnt take the chance of him bleeding out on her during surgery. His ears had been clipped and tail docked before my daughter got him so I thought this was odd. I had never had a Doberman so I researched all about them. I learned that they were often diagnosed with "Wobblers". a condition that was caused by weak neck muscles resulting in back leg/hip weakness. I concluded that a dog with a long neck needed lots of exercize to keep it strong and the nerves healthy. It was then that I discovered the whole prey model of feeding where he had to work for that food instead of lapping kibble from a bowl. I started by giving him pieces of raw cut up chicken as a treat. Then one day I presented him with a whole chicken...outside in the yard. He didn't know what to do with it. He gnawed on it a bit and then left it and some crows took off with it . After that, he hated crows and he tended to gulp down too fast so I started feeding him frozen chicken hind quarters. He loved them. Then transitioned to frozen everything. pork with ribs, beef ribs, and roasts...all frozen. Also organ meats. Id buy the meat and organs and put a meals worth in plastic bags and freeze. A breakfast would be a frozen clump of beef liver, a chicken hindquarter and a big hunk of pork.. Dinner would be some lamb kidney and a chicken hind quarter. I pretty much followed the 80% meat, 10%bone 10% organ meat model. This was roughly the ideal. He loved this frozen food and his jaws and neck got a good work out. Teeth too. The change in his eyes, coat and muscle tone was unbelievable in less than 2 weeks. Really extraordinary. People were astonished and he was one happy boy. I highly recommend the whole prey model. Each dog is different. Sadly, he went to the rainbow bridge a couple of years ago...we all miss him now but he really lived the dream when he was with us. Hope this helped. redhousepress I’m sorry to hear what happen to him but it sounds like he had a good life with a loving family who actually care about him! My Doberman who is not neutered had his ears cropped and tail docked too before I had got him. I notice that the ‘high quality’ and expensive kibble, I had transition him on, was doing more harm to him than good. I just did some research on PMR and I have fallen in love with the idea of it. I want to start his transition into the diet immediately and I’ll start with what you told me, raw chicken treats! I agree with you on the frozen food too. May I ask how frozen was the food when you feed your Doberman? How it straight out of the freezer or did you leave it thaw out a little?

Thank you for your interesting videos. You are awesome. What’s your opinion on the cat food premix like Alnutrin, Feline Instincts or TC Feline? It looks like it simplifies the raw recipe quite a lot.

My oncologist warned me against raw. But, my cat has been struggling with SML for nearly 2 1/2 years and raw cured my friend's cat with the same issue. Lived to be 24!! So, took my cat OFF chemo for nearly a month (wasn't working anyway - oncologist's idea), reduced his prednisolone, and off we went. He took to it right away. LOVED IT. And, I was so relived that he was finally eating healthy. Then, he stared getting diarrhea, small bouts of it. Then, vomited a couple of times and then BAD diarrhea. And now, he's hiding in the closet waiting to be taken to the vet tomorrow. I sad. 😥

Thanks for the advice. One cat has made the transition and the other is being slowly transitioned soon.

Hello From Montreal ! I just stepped upon your videos and I love you :)) thank you so much for all you are doing, i am introducing the raw food to my Bengal Luna and waiting for my kitten mid-march, Highland Lynx. I am definatly trying this recipe. My Luna REEAALY loves porc though (no so keen on chicken) You should see how she pushes my hand to have bites of my porc on my plate..lolll I buy her the human baby cup of porc(at walmarts frozen food(it's basically just porc and water). So if i do a Pork version i will make it in my slow cooker i think .... Can't wait to see how she feels about this recipe, she does love all types of ground meat , i give her a few raw bites when i make spaghetti sauce. :)

Hi Jasmine, I feed my boy Max raw cat food too! Does you're B vitamin have a strong vitamin smell? The one I have does and for the 1st 3 days of a new batch he won't eat it. I even add fortiflora to help him. I'm thinking of trying a new B vitamin. Maybe the one you get.

I am really excited about making their food. If you have rabbit recipe, I would be very interested. I can grind with bones and organs. Do I need to mix with chicken or beef?

Question: if you're adding beef as boneless muscle meat, why the need to take out 3 out of 12 bones from the chicken thighs? I thought the point of de-boning the chicken thighs was to dilute the calcium to phosphorus ratio. If you're adding boneless beef, wouldn't that serve as the 20 - 30% de-boned meat? It seems to me that this recipe would be a lot lower in bone than usual.

You should use a variety of meat pork beef chicken bisen turkey ra it duck ect the more the better :)

No chicken hearts to be found, what substitute meat should i use, beef heart?

Since you are adding beef meat into the chicken/bone/skin mix.. would this slightly throw off the ratio you would need of bone and skin? Wouldn't you need more bone? I would love to make a huge batch of this but I wanted to figure out a way of calculating the percentage of bone I'd need for this recipe. What if I wanted to make it strictly beef? I hope my question makes sense.

OMG I (and my cat sofia) are so glad to have found you! just made a small test batch to work her slowly into it...she loves it! My chicken hearts came also with gizzards, do you use them too? Also some vet raw food videos suggest a bit of pumpkin/squash for fiber and yogurt for probiotics added to the mix which is very close to yours. Do you give Puppy pumpkin/yogurt or believe in needing vegetable fiber/probiotics?

@@Greekhistoryyy I would just give a bit separately as a treat because she loved the taste. Also easy to just mix a tiny bit into each meal. about 1 tsp - 1 tbsp total over 24hrs works for most cats. good luck!

@@Greekhistoryyy i buy plain cooked pumpkin in a can (NOT pumpkin pie mix, be careful! JUST plain pumpkin), mix a bit in each meal. I then store it in ice cube trays in the freezer as it goes bad after 2-3 days in the fridge, this way you can always thaw out small portions!

Should vary the meats for an all round nutrients.

Do you use catnip as a treat or in your foods I've heard that cats go crazy for it. Just wanted to know

after made I freeze them, and take out enought for the next couple days. (your only doing this next step when your ready to warm cats food) I always get a seperate container put it on the scale then turn it on, it should read zero. ounce you get the amount weighed for you cat or all the cats. then put the lid back on fill your sink with really hot water( only as hot as your sink water gets) let it sit for a little, it doesnt take long at all maybe 1 to 2 min. take it put and put it in your cats bowls thats it. if you have multiple cats do the same thing as in beginning but there food bowls on scale turn it on and weigh each cats portions out.

And shouldn't you add more bone to account for the added beef meat?

Do you have a recipe for healthy treats/snacks? Or a list of things that are good for treats.

Yes this is pretty good but dog raw diet is kinda different to cat some add other things and I recommend checking out the primal pack and do ur re

What type of blender is that? I really need one that can grind bones that effective, cause my cats just spit out any bone pieces, even the smallest ones.

Hi, we created your chicken recipe, but I think I added too much fatm Our cat ate it at first, a little bit, but now he won't touch it. We had him on dry food and had to switch him to canned wet food because he was breaking out in really bad allergies. He started eating the wet food from a can and so we tried to transition him to your chicken recipe, again I think we put too much fat, but he nibbled on it the first day and we thought it was a winner but now for the last 2 days he won't come near it. Do you think we should add some red meat into it and maybe mix it in with the chicken recipe that we already created? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

My cat hardly drinks water and had her first UTI. Is salmon oil a good idea to put in her water to get her to drink it?? How many drops would be ideal per day

Um I depend if ur cats on kibble then u should be a little worried if it eat raw then no worries they get there water from the raw meat

I have a table outside so the cat watches me make it through the window. Otherwise she’d lose her mind. The sharp kitchen shears are a life saver. I prefer the chunks of meat compared to the ground because my cat tends to wolf down the ground food. Since she suffers from indigestion, I find she does better if she chews it. I put lysine in my food for her too cuz she has conjunctivitis and since I started using it the vet says her eye has cleared up. But I notice it comes back if I don’t add it to her food. She loves this food. I put it in small recycled glass jars to freeze. The vet says my cat is very healthy now. She wasn’t when I got her from the rescue. The raw food really cleared up her digestion troubles. She would cry about her upset tummy every time she pooped in her box, which smelled like undirected rotting cat food. Now her poops smell like next to nothing. She doesn’t fart anymore. And her fur is tons softer. And she is no longer malnourished. She is a super sassy and happy Siamese cat.

I live in India. I have no access to raw meat which can be directly consumed. So I am planning to either cook or par- cook it in a pressure cooker before feeding my cat. My question is what can I do to compensate for the nutrient loss? Is there anything I can add to the recipe to make up for it?

I also plan to do the same thing...I would suggest to just sprinkle a bit of taurine and other supplements to the food when you feed them too

Hey do you feed your fur babies kangaroo ive heard it’s really good for them and a great/cheaper version to using rabbit my little Maine coon was born 2 days ago so I’ve got a 14 week wait till I can pick him up but I’m going to go down the raw food avenue this time because our little boy that just passed away a little over a week ago died from bad kidneys as someone baited him so our new little baby won’t be allowed outside unless he’s on a harness love your vids thanks for the help cheers.

milahoot no the supplements are a requirement. The meat alone doesn’t have all the nutrients and vitamin that they need

I started feeding my four month old kitten with raw food a few days ago, got all the ingredients and Followed the recipe with chicken thighs and he's been constipated. it's really bothering me. HELP!

Can i use this recipe for 4 month old kittens? I heard over supplementing is not good so do i need to decrease the amount of supplements in the recipe

As long as the kitten is starting to eat solids feed them what your gonna feed them for the rest of there lives. dont change supplements, its just like any other cat food out there they all have supplements cuz that cat cant get everyhting they need since there not catching there whole prey like in the wild.

Why do you blend it up? Some people don’t. Can’t cats eat them in chunks and isn’t it better for their teeth to chew/eat the raw bones? Trying to find a good recipe to switch my cats to raw, so I’d love to know what you think.

the only problem with somehow chucking the bones up is if there very big youll have to monitor them. if you want to give them bone you can always give them a meaty bone for them to eat, she has a video on that also for the meaty bones at least just with supervision

Arianna Quiero lite salt is made with potassium and cats also need b vitamins just like us, there’s more than likely enough of the b vitamins and taurine in the food but it doesn’t hurt to add some

Hello! Thank you for this video. I did a rough version of your recipe as a test run for my kitty. I spent about $10 between two stores and ground the meat all down. I wasn’t super exact with the measurements since I figured it was a test to see how he’d respond to it. Thus I also excluded the supplements at this time. It was hard to get him to eat it. He ate a tiny bit, but I’d have to hold him there for the two meals (the first day) to make him eat any of it...otherwise he smelled it and walked away and complained that he couldn’t eat. First time it was cold, second time it was room temperature. Up to this point in time, he’s been eating Blue Wilderness dry cat food and Pate Nutro...I guess my question is, is there any benefit to having some of his meals forced on him and be raw? Does it help flush out the bad ingredients from his processed foods? Maybe I can slowly increase it over time, but this first day was rough, even got some smell complaints from the hubbies. lol

definitly a work in progress with cats that have been fed dry for a long time. i finally got my probably 15 year old cat switched over. sever health conditins with my 3 year old cat that i lost pushed me to do everything i could to help him. he never got to try the cat food. but my 2 cats that where raised strictly on the raw food are very very healthy and have never at processed cat food they wont even touch it. try wet food for a bit and go from there that what helped mine took a bit bit im finally at the raw food with him. Could you tell me what kind of smell cuz it shouldnt smell bad. i can smell all my raw ingredints and they dont really smell like much definitly dont smell strong or bad?

Try a little Fortiflora sprinkled on top or grind up the dry food and sprinkle on top. My 5 year old cat took to raw food fairly quick and I weaned him off of dry food (bad stuff) and only gave him small amounts as a treat. Took about 2-3 weeks. I also use Lisa A. Pierson, DVM half raw recipe. Main thing is, get your cat off of dry cat food and switch him to wet. I spent thousands last year on vet bills for urinary tract problems for my cat because he wasn't drinking enough water.

Good Lord! Shears?! I have 17 cats in my shelter. I use a butcher's cleaver, a cutting board, and a food processor. I also stay chunky, but I have to make 5 lbs of this stuff every 4 days. I don't have time for shears, lol.

the second they can eat reg food away from momma cat. i have 2 cats that havent had a drop of anything else there entire life. just the same with all kitten feeding you feed them more often since there growing thats it.

great for kittens as long as there starting solids just like any other cat food give them more feedings

My cat isn’t super crazy about chicken (except the skins,he loves em) but he LOVES red meat, I got him some ground bison the other day and he wouldn’t even let me warm it up for him lmao.

cats can just do that just to be vocal, my cat likes the roam around on the first floor yowling while everyones sleeping, pretty normal

If someone has not supplements then can we skip??

Hi! I have 2 questions: 1. I buy my chicken thighs in fillet and the bones separately, so the "take 2 bones from 10 thighs" ratio kind of confuse me. Is it ok if I put 10% of bones from the total weight of the chicken thighs meat (referring to 80/10/5/5 model)? For example, if I were to use 1kg of chicken thighs, I use 100gr of bones? 2. I have some chicken gizzards, if I were to use gizzards, is it ok if I reduce some amount from the chicken thigh? Example, original recipe calls for 1kg of chicken thigh, can I use 800gr of thighs and 200gr of gizzard? What thigh/meat:gizzard ratio do you suggest? Thanks in advance! Sending nose kisses to Puppy

I makes my cat Wetfood instead of rawfood. I want to make rawfood but im not really sure😐 because chicken here are having injection even though I make boil chicken breast for my cats. Plus, the taurine, vitamin e and that other powder is so much costly. 😖 I just feel like I cant afford it. I just have omega 3 1000 mg which I mix after I boil the chicken. I read on the internet that every 4,5kg cats needs only around 250mg. So I guess thats enough.

Hi! Are you by any chance Indonesian? Just my two cents, it seems like chicken breast and fish oil only are not a balanced diet. If you can't get the supplements, I think you can get the liver, heart, and bones and just cut it into chunks instead of grind it, so the taurine etc don't get destroyed and hence there's no need for added supplements :)

Also I believe beef has some decent taurine levels if you can get your hands on it. You can find tables with the taurine amount for meats in different forms.

You cannot feed just chicken. A balanced raw diet for a cat must have a rotation of a minimum of three different proteins, fed over one week. And must be balanced as follows ; 82 -83% muscle meat / 7-8% bone / 5 % liver and 5% other secreting organ. This video does not teach how to feed a balanced raw diet to a cat.

Why the taurine and b-complex when that is already going to be in meat naturally? especially if raw, shouldn't be cooked out...

In muscle meat or organ there not much taurine just give then some heart u will be good to go
