HOW TO MAKE PEACH COBBLER USING FRESH PEACHES: Easy Recipe for the Best Homemade Peach Cobbler

If you've ever wanted to learn How to Make Peach Cobbler using fresh peaches, this recipe is for you. In this video, I also explain how you can make it with frozen or canned peaches, but hopefully, you're here because you want to make it using fresh ones. Once you taste it, you'll see, it really is so much better. Read on for the recipe.
Peach Cobbler
approx. 6 fresh peaches (or a 1lb. bag of frozen peaches, or 30oz. can of peaches in syrup)
1 1/2 cups self rising flour (if using all purpose flour, add 2 tsp. baking soda & 1/2 tsp. salt)
2 cups sugar, divided
1 cup water
1 cup milk
1 stick of butter
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
cinnamon or cinnamon sugar for sprinkling on top
To prepare peaches, use a paring knife to slice a small X on the bottom of each peach, only cutting through the skin. Place peaches in boiling water for 15-20 seconds. Remove and immediately place in ice bath for 30 seconds. Peaches should easily peel when you start by peeling back from where you scored the skin earlier. Once peeled, slice peaches and place in bowl. Then add 1 Tbsp. lemon juice to them, mix, and set aside.
Place one cup water and 1 cup sugar in a large saucepan over medium high heat. When sugar is fully dissolved, add in sliced peaches. Stir and let it come to a boil. Once it boils, lower heat and let simmer 10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350º. Place a stick of butter into a 9x13" baking dish, and let it melt in the oven.
Prepare batter by placing 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup milk in a medium size mixing bowl. Whisk to combine.
When butter has melted, pour batter evenly into baking dish and DO NOT STIR.
Spoon in the peaches on top, as evenly as possible, and include all the syrup. DO NOT STIR.
Sprinkle with cinnamon or cinnamon sugar and place in oven to bake at 350º for 30 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
This peach cobbler is best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

In the written description you mistakenly stated "baking soda" rather than "baking powder". That could have a bigger impact on the recipe than the salt would, I think, but I caught the discrepancy before I made it. Great recipe overall. Mine turned out great, so thank you! ~Peace!

It has zero calories and does not raise your blood sugar, but it's a natural sweetener made from root vegetables. Anyway, I made peanut butter chocolate bars with it and they were delicious. Just thought I'd throw that out there as another alternative.

To make the absolute best peach cobbler, you need to wait for the peaches to fall off the tree. Then can them in a heavy syrup. After that, you can do sugared or sugar free cobbler, as the peaches will steal the show. This was my Grandmother's secret, and it never failed.
