Made my first set! I used 1 1/4" PVC because that's all they had for all of the pieces and parts. Pat was not kidding about the primer. I made a streaky mess on one of the feet, but I quickly learned after that. I think I got a workout in just making these! My old miter box helped me make even 90° cuts. Thanks for the video!

You can also make these out of steel pipes, usually just one section over from PVC. Use 3/4 or 1” and buy the foam pipe insulation (usually 8 feet for $1) and you’ll be fine. It will cost more at about $70 for a pair but the lower profile and ability to flat store them is much better in my opinion.

Great video. A fun DIY for all of us searching to have a fully functioning gym at home. My first thought though was “Did they mix PVC and ABS on that first set?” I know that plumbing code where I’m from doesn’t allow this (something about the cement not working to properly adhere the two different plastics). It might not be a big deal in this application but just keep an eye and make sure those joints stay tight. I don’t want to see anyone getting hurt. ;-)
