I'm salty as fuck that adobe has a monopoly on these essential features. Like, this is a feature that should be in every single photo editing program and like, it's so hard to do without photoshop! fuck that! I hate it! good tutorial though. and fuck adobe!

Geez this is incredibly complicated compared to photoshop

another gimp process that takes half a million steps. when it takes two in Photoshop. Thanks for the effort but I'm about done with this software.

So... this is to say gimp doesn't have a native outer glow effect..? That's shocking, and disappointing. Using outer glow on a text layer is one of the staples to me, in photoshop. To have to create this effect anytime I do a text edit is a time killer. I see gimp has a drop shadow - you'd think outer glow would be just as basic. I appreciate your tutorial as a workaround, but I'm truly disappointed in gimp.

I DO ALL THE STEPS BUT WHEN I EXPORT TO NIFSKOPE(DDS) I ONLY GET THE TEXT LAYER WITHOUT THE BACK GROUND
