DISCLAIMER - As of November 2021, given the legal battles that Kieran Hebden is currently undergoing with Domino Records over royalties of 3 of his earlier albums, the timing of the release of this video is coincidental and no insensitivity is intended. I would hope that this video is seen as an enthusiastic celebration of Four Tet's producing style, and all techniques revealed are based on techniques that Four Tet himself very generously volunteered in the many KZread videos he has done about music producing (and maximum respect to him for being so open about how he works).
This video is brought to you by Hollow Ground Productions.
DISCLAIMER - HGP does not wish to encourage aping other artists styles for their own personal gain. This is purely to help inspire you by focussing on the production techniques that will help you FIND YOUR OWN STYLE!! I Hope to one day be making a "In The Style Of....." Video about YOUR music!!!!

I have been through thousand of electronic music tutorials... this channel is by far the best and most complete I have visited! Thanks, keep it growing! :)
Gavin the Great! I don’t know how I’ve over looked this video for so long. It’s fantastic like everything you post. Thanks for these videos.

Great tutorial, mate. Thank you a lot!
This is 100% down my alley. Love it. I think it’s time to finally get the Zoom out and start recording!!
Mate, this channel is a hidden gem (maybe not for long). Your design is spot on and the irreverence of this all is a breath of fresh air.
Good stuff pal! This video will pop at some point with the algorithms, bet! 🍀
your channel is brilliant. thanks
that kick is SPOT ON.
holy shit, what a find, great work
Awesome video, just watched it again and figured I would comment to let you know that more like this would really be appreciated 👍
Feels like I learned nothing from this, but got some inspirations, thanks!

Incredible analysis. Also I remember him saying in one of his twitter threads that there’s a Geiger counter sample in this, which I cannot unhear.

This is really good.
Wow!

This is hilarious and great!
best tutorial in ma life
You're damn good. I'm learning so much stuff from your videos. If you take video suggestions I'd love if someone would break down C418 non minecraft material. Like albums Dief (Breakbeat style drums, ambient electronic) and Excursions (kinda videogamey ambient electronic vibe). Also I love Lindstrom and his so called space disco sound. I especially like hid album Smalhans. So damn groovy. He does some crazy melodic synth layers I have no idea how to go about creating. There's two artist you don't see a lot im these kind of tutorials.

Thanks for the support, Rutanen. Sounds like "How to make Nu Disco like Lindstrom and Todd Terje" would make for a good tutorial. I've had people mention their names before. So keep your eye out for early 2022, I'll slot it in! It's the first time i've had a request for C418 though. For some reason he doesn't come up in requests. Would make an interesting subject for a Personal Tutorial, perhaps? Lots of genres and styles to cover.
This is fantastic. Any chance you want to do Nicholas Jaar/Against All Logic?

I feel like it makes sense, they both went to the same school, weirdly might be a coincidence
No nonsense, not trying to sell your sample pack… fair play

Could you please explain how you transpose the samples to the key of the track? do you just use your ears or some special tool? cheers
is that about the fish guy one or a different one
Thanks, great video, except for those loud distorted blasts you throw in.

You type that query into Google instead of leaving it as a KZread comment.
Can't help but wonder how Four Tet actually produces music. Probably some completely arcane way none of us have thought of.

This will give you a good idea. It's actually not as illusive as you think!! (although, this is only 1 technique) kzread.info/dash/bejne/hol41bixcte8eco.html
If you're that good, make one for Xanopticon (joke but not at the same time?)
really good but why the earrape man ://///
Make music like me buddy. Go ahead. Try.
I can’t think of a more unrewarding and boring way to make music.
