7 years without a boards album. My mind slowly descends into madness. There is nothing to calm my fear, nothing to stoke the fire of life. I have gained no catharsis. I know not what I have become, nor if the reality I perceive is truth, or the dreams of a mad man.

Great work! There is also a sample at the end of "Happy Cycling" right as it fades, the back masked speech. That is actually Jeff Lynne talking about his back masking controversies on "Rockline", a horrible interview program syndicated to FM stations in the late 70s - early 80s and broadcast on Sunday nights. Pretty clever, eh?

That Christian Children's album is a trip - from an Amazon review - "I remember listening to this tape over and over again as a kid. It has well done songs and an interesting story line. From what I remember Colby is a musical computer that a professor bought to help find the original music to the Psalms in the Bible. Some kids find him and he tells them his story and that no mater how hard he tries to help the professor he keeps playing them to modern music. The kids try to help him and have fun singing along with him as he plays some pretty versions of the Psalms but don't fix his problems. The professor threatens to scrap or reprogram Colby (can't remember which) but the children bring him around save their friend."

I disagree. Dj screw and other southern producers from memphis also slowed things down and used tape manipulation. Vaporwave is just a word without context if you use it to describe music that came before it. Like how music historians use the term pre punk to talk about late 60s garage rock that was incredibly punk like. The word plunder-phonics has been around since the 80s to describe music that samples and manipulates others music. But music evolves like language and it's just hard to pinpoint when a genres starts and another begins

The voice is a narrator introducing Amo Bishop Roden, who is interviewed in dialogue which can be heard in Board's remix of Poppy Seed by Slag Boom Van Loon. bocpages.org/wiki/Slag_Boom_Van_Loon_-_Poppy_Seed It's probably from a documentary or news report about cults, the Waco siege or the Branch Davidians, it must be pretty obscure since it doesn't look like it's anywhere online.

You have to be extremely careful with those types of words. Earlier DJs were slowing down and altering sounds before BoC. Artist always and I mean always borrow from unpopular and unknown artists. Always. If you use the word 'rip-off' without thinking, you most realize that you are saying so on a video full of samples that BoC used. And those samples were created by those before them.

@@sixty9r Who can ever be 100% sure all the time with the BoC lads? However the movie version has a longer period before the brass comes in. For instance check 1min49sec area of this clip kzread.info/dash/bejne/dZZszteBlNO4aJc.html Could I be wrong? Sure but I'm leaning toward this version more. Also I played bass in a local production of hair so sadly I've become very intimate with the entire OST heh.

@@TheHazardousDuke If you listen very closely on Aquarius Version 3 before the bassline comes in, you can faintly hear brass on (and only on) the 3rd bar of the loop, which unless I'm mistaken, only happens on the OST version from 0:45. kzread.info/dash/bejne/e4eN2dGsf5Oalso.html
