In this tutorial / DIY i show you how to make mini scrunchies. I have two different sizes depending on who you would like to make these scrunchy's for. Adult size and a smaller children's size. There are also two options and ways to make the minis which are seamless style and one with a seam. these are super easy to make and are such a cute gift.
Please note a sewing machine is required for this tutorial
Adult mini size dimensions
7cm by 45-50cm of fabric
20cm of elastic
child mini size dimensions
7cm by 35cm of fabric
15cm of elastic

I make my scrunchies with the second method, and for anyone who does them that way too, use a big crochet hook to grab the fabric from the inside, its SO much faster ❤️

Thank you for converting cm's to inches for us old school folks.
Genial, muchas gracias! Hasta ahora no había hecho los scrunchies mas pequeños pero con este tutorial los voy a hacer porque quedan preciosos, espero venderlos bien, un saludo desde Argentina😊❤
I think the kid size might also be really nice for half up hairstyles.

Before I sew the opening closed, this is where I insert my label. That way the elastic is free to move.

Great tutorial! I also realized that you can put the elastic on the pin before you turn the fabric right-side out, that way you are doing two steps at once. Although it would probably be faster to do it the original way when making them in bulk.

Thank you Taylah. Another great video. I use the second method to make my scrunchies. It takes longer but I only make a few at a time.

I also use the burrito style for my scrunchies. I hated the seam on the other way.

Do you have a tutorial on how you make your bunny ear scrunchies?
Hello. I really enjoy watching your scrunchies videos. I'm a new in this sewing thingie. May I know what kind of fabric did you use for your scrunchies? It looks so shiny and attractive.

Thank you, I’m using satin ☺️
After cutting the LxW of the material, what do you do with the left over scraps? I don't want to waste material but not sure what to do with the scraps
I love everything you do but the United States is not in the metric system and I have to look up the inches all the time so I like it when you say the inches to thank you for all your videos I watch them all

Probably satin
What size is the elastic for these? Thank You.
Hi! Really love your videos !! Just wondering if the threads come undone when you close the scrunchies as I didn’t see you back stitch over? Ive always been told to stitch over but if i dont need to then it would save a little time. Thanks 😃
@TaylahRose

Never! I use very small stitching tho which is why it doesn’t come apart ☺️ between 0-1mm on my machine
Hi taylah thanks for the tutorial I’m just wondering if once you measure the elastic would we need to cut it abit longer for when we tie the knot for example if you cut 6 inch elastic for the kids size an then tie it at the end it’s much smaller so it would be about a 4 inch if that makes sense
@TaylahRose
Жыл бұрын
I just cut 6 and tie the not I don’t add any extra 😃 but do what feels right for you

I think in this video it is sped up but my new industrial machine would go as fast. It’s 5000spm 😃 Juki DDL 8000a it’s fantastic
For those of us in the United States could you please give the measurements in U.S. terms also please when doing your videos? I do not know centermeters but only Inches....Thank you Taylah!

Divide the cm by 2.54 and that’s inches.
the second method seems like way too fidely for me. Great demo regardless.
