Is the Martini Dry Vermouth a good substitute for the Kina Lillet in the movie, which I have heard has changed it's taste after 1980, while Ian Fleming wrote this recipe before that. I have also heard that Cocchi Americano is the best substitute to Kina Lillet now, so my basic question is that will Martini Dry Vermouth lead to the same results in a traditional Vesper?

I spent my childhood watching 'copy-Bond' movies in Malaysia - made locally, with Malay actors, either prior to, or following the latest Shashi Kapoor movie... 'Matt Bondo.' It was like a combination Marlon Brando/Sean Connery/Elvis Presley flick but instead of Walther PPK's, a silver kris (little knife) for a weapon... I now realize it was quite an innovation considering Marlon Brando for the role of 'Bond!' Matt Bondo rides around Penang on a scooter carrying his trusty kris in his crocodile-skin belt; well before 'Crocodile Dundee' - but not before Peter Allen, who played weekends at the New World in Singapore, and certainly not before one 'Charles Boyer Yin,' (aka Leslie Charteris) a part Chinese guy who was really the screen-writer for all the big (real) Bond movies. James Bond in Hindi. Hmn. Well, I know what it would be like in Tamil, anyway: 'my name is Bond, James Bond, and your mother is a *&&%$%#$Y$#!!!' Villain sips from over-fermented toddy and dies. Many dancers in silk. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Shashi Kapoor sings... Tata Jaguar car races off into Sunset. Works for me. Laugh or don't laugh, but it's still better than the rubbish Hollywood is making these days.

James Bond drinks 3:1 Gin to Vodka ratio. And be doesn’t add Vermouth. Instead he likes Kina Lilet ( very rare in India)

Sir I beg your pardon but I think you made a wrong cocktail. James Bond orders for vodka martini and the recipe is - 3 oz Gordon's Gin 1 oz Russian vodka 1/2 oz Kina Lillet fortified white wine instead of Martini vermouth. And the mix is shaken over ice. Then lemon peel is added to the drink.
