Growing up I remember oxtail used to be cheap because it was considered the "left over" parts. Now it is expensive because the masses have realized how delicious it is!

Lemme tell you, as an aficionado of great oxtails I followed this method to the letter last year (with the exception of some of the powdered seasonings - all high in sodium, some redundant; Flavo-Rice being the best) and gave out batches to friends and family for free since I had about 20+ pounds in the freezer...and I've been dodging all of their efforts to make me make them more...they've even offered to buy them for me to personally prepare and cook for them. I've sent them both a link to this video since then. This method is so simple and such a great improvement over my previous browning and slow cooker method. Only thing I'd say is you don't need ALL of those sodium-based powders...Flavor Rice is great, even the Maggi liquid is salt-based. I'd skip the Lawry's (I did). You definitely don't need a packet of Oxtail seasoning with all the other spices. The first ingredient in all of them is salt; pick one or two which you find great and go with those. You don't need five or six salt-based seasonings to execute this. You WILL however require ketchup. I like a ketchup with no corn syrup for this recipe, save those other ones for your burgers, hot dogs, and fries.
