That sound is called "chatter". It is from movement of the components or deflection of on or more of the components.

First off. You have made a lovely machine. I very much look forward to seeing how it progresses. On that note I have a question. What did you use for housing your bearings? In the video it looks like you have welded a component of some sort to the plates. I would very much like to know what that is.

Thanks for your comment In this video I did show my headstock spindle and bearings, the first I sued two plate pieces thick metal weld and drill then scrape hood I bought to keep bearings, finally I got headstock it worked but hood is not tight enough for bearings when milling deep cut sound shaking. I’m planning make new homemade lathe

Great job maybe you could fit the spindle into the headstock before you tack up so you can preload and Aline the spindle and shaft

Cast iron and not prefabricated is best But like you I have only ever prefabricated components like you lathe ,the thing to take into account is the expansion and contraction stresses welding puts on you project. I worked at a foundry that went from casting things like headstock housing to prefabricated the same ,they found out pretty quick they had to weld first stress release if needed ,then machine,my job was as a blacksmith who had to straighten some big problems caused by expanding and contracting welds .keep up the good work up and look for the answer to any problem anywhere and everywhere .👍

It would have been better to use a dial indicator to align the headstock with the tool post. If you can't get certain tools there you could always get someone to mail you one. I live in Delaware in the United States so I can get basically anything I would need as far as precision measuring goes.

Thanks for your adding info I will try the best way the headstock I did is not good enough because the metal as I used bit thin and one more thing the ring to keep bearings not tight so when I to milling deep cut sound bit shacking. Anyway if I don’t have this lathe it mean I don’t have any equipment too so happy to use if I get more income I will make new lathe.
