So he uses base plate wax for all the undercuts that way the grill does not get locked in then you see he uses die separator so that the acrylic does not stay attached to the model. He is using red self cure pattern resin as a base then proceeds with using casting wax to wax up the teeth. Making Grillz derives from techniques used to make dental crowns so if you want to learn more look up gold dental crown frabication . Grillz essentially are gold crowns splinted together. look up any art studio for classes on the lost wax technique for some hands on training. #FREEGAME

Thank you for this comment. I wanted to ask you if you know if it’s necessary to use the red self cure pattern resin as a base or if we could just go in with the wax right away?

So you waxed out the gum lines first and then put resin separator agent on them? I always thought the grillz should meet the gum line, but this is kinda going over them a tiny bit, is it?

the rose plastic teeth and the straws got put into that grey sort of clay. i believe the clay hardens and becomes sort of like a cast/form that can withstand melted metal and as the gold or whatever gets poured in the bottom of the straws channels it burns up the plastic of the rose teeth grills and the straws filling the cast from the inside while removing the previous plastic structure at the same time. i guess you could say that the grill got burned plastic on it but it does get polished at the end.
