I’ve made traditional Japanese sawhorses by hand with no nails, screws or glue, and Krenov style mortise and tenon sawhorses, but your design is too cool, I have to make some sets immediately. And paint them fun colors.

I've actually been using those cheap foldable trestle tables with the plastic top and metal legs instead of saw horses. You only need two to support both ends of a sheet of plywood or whatever when cutting it. They can also be used as extra work-table space or whatever too, and they are pretty light and fold down to almost nothing. I've actually been thinking of designing a table-saw setup using them as extension / out-feed tables as space in my garage is limited.

Hi alexander! Great design. I bought your plans and are planning to build 4 horses this weekend! The thing I am worried about is the alignment of the hinges. It is hard to believe that you got it so accurate as shown in 11:09! A small angle error get amplified by the leg length of course. Any suggestions for aligning the hinges? Ideally, you want to start folded but you cannot mount screws of course. What about just a single screw, fold the saw horse, align and then carefully open it to drive in the remaining screws?

Very nice saw horses. I will probably build myself a set. The sacrificial top piece is a nice feature. However, it's good practice to not cut your saw horses when working on them. Normally one would place (2) 2"x4"x8' boards between 2 horses with 4-6 pieces of 2"x4"x4' across them to both properly support your plywood and prevent cutting your horses.

Hi Alexandre. This is the best plan I have seen. I bought plans and I am going to build sawhorses soon. But I am little bit confused from dimensions on plan. Why is "bottom brace" 400 x 90 mm and "hinged bottom brace" 402 x 90 mm? It makes one frame of sawhorse 2 mm wider then other. I can't figure out the reason. Thank for explainnig.
