@@BejanHandmadeLures I’m on Facebook. Friend me there and I can share my posts on a page I have there. Most all of the baits I’ve foiled, I’ve bought. Going to try a few of my ideas on some baits in the coming year and make my blanks like you do. Think it would be pretty cool to do a start to finish.

Good evening Paul, thanks for sharing this! I tried the same process but to make the lure I used polyurethane resin + micro bloons to lighten the weight of the casting and to allow the bait to float. From what I saw in your video, you didn't add any micro bloons to the foam: does this material float without adding anything else? While when it comes to strenght, is the resin better or are they basically the same? Thanks a lot, have a great weekend! 👋🏻

Its foam not resin. The foam floats beacause expands. I'm sure both are good for different applications.

Very nice Paul! How long does it take to dry PU foam in a silicone mold? Can it be in an aluminum mold or in a plaster mold?

I demold after 20-24 hours,but after 6 hours at 22C i'd say it' s fine. Sure you could.pour in aluminum mold,but you must use a release agent or something similar.

I haven't ,but bicomponent foam works great for lures. Salmo lures are made.out of foam.

Check out Alumilite- they are in Michigan. They sell silicone molding rubber and expanding foams. They are very helpful too if you have technical questions

Great video. Would you mind telling me what kind of silicone your using or does any polyurethane silicone work. Im new to making molds, i usually carve all my baits. Would be awesome to "preserve" the good ones with having a mold. Edit: what works best for you, flexible or rigid foam, low or high density. Thanks man. Im still catching up on your vids. Great technique.

You choose the foam depending on what you want to achieve. For classic crankbaits I prefere rigid foam,low density. The silicone is Rtv silicone. Just google for it and you'll figure out.
