Have you ever made a fire with a flashlight...I have...give up? You carefully break the bulb not too damage the filament . You put the bulb back into the socket and lightly cover it with very dry grass or moss then you turn it on and blow till you get smoke then a small flame then transfer it to the fire kindling...it takes a very steady hand to break the glass and not damage the filament but it can be done...CHEERS!

🙂👍
Have you ever made a fire with a flashlight...I have...give up? You carefully break the bulb not too damage the filament . You put the bulb back into the socket and lightly cover it with very dry grass or moss then you turn it on and blow till you get smoke then a small flame then transfer it to the fire kindling...it takes a very steady hand to break the glass and not damage the filament but it can be done...CHEERS!

Good video, How long does it roughly take to get smoke?
@KenClick

About 10 seconds depending on the wood. The video shows it in real time, so you can see when I start to when you first notice smoke. Thanks for watching!

Overall after doing everything about how long does take to start the fire

When you say "after doing everything" I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean how long does it take once the bow starts turning the spindle? The video shows that part. All the prep work takes some time and is different each time.
It's a pity that you don't specify which woods are suitable for the board and drill

No pity. It's just a demonstration. If you really want to know more the information is available online. Most go no farther than idle talk.
I was thinking what i would do if apocalypse started like all power would go down, people would die of cold, hunger and that kind of stuff😂😂

It's an old skill that very few have accomplished. It's like knowing how to drive a car with a standard transmission or how to do math without a calculator.
Gotta learn this for when I'm on the run from the government

@@KenClick sorry for confusion, RDR2 is a game where you craft, cook, camp, and survive in an open wild west world that is based on 1899 era. The music and action of the video gives that vibe. You should check it out!

@KenClick

In "Cast Away," starring Tom Hanks, he did not use the bow drill method to make fire. Using a bow drill is much easier.
Searchin for it in case i got lost when in the woods with no lighter and need to light a fire to repel creatures.
