Oh wow now that's great to see that a paper cutter can actually cut thru that faux leather, I have a few of them, but just didn't think that it would have worked, I'm a bit surprised.
Omg i was so worried I needed a heat press or my Cricut! Thank you so much for using an alternative way, can’t wait to try these out 🙂
Thank you so much for the detailed video. I bought everything mentioned in video. I just loved how easy and pretty my wrist lanyards turned out.

Hey Francy, I used the brush-on Gorilla Glue, it worked great and the brush was amazing easy to use. I have also used the gel type super glue, it also works great on leatherette. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I can pull my leatherette right out of the fob. I even had my husband so it to see if I wasn’t tightening it enough but thats not the issue. Should i glue the ends first? Or is the problem that i only use one layer of leatherette?
@DesignBundles
3 жыл бұрын
Good question, I guess I've never tried only one layer of leatherette. If you can pull the leatherette out, I would say that the teeth aren't grabbing it on the inside, so I would try a second layer. I don't pull on them with my whole strength or anything, but I have given them quite a tug and mine are secure. Hope this helps and let me know if you try two layers! ---Becky

HI, EXCELLENT TUTORIAL. I'm not sure where to look for Crafty Chameleon? Yours were so cute. Also, I was wondering if all Faux Leather can have the (dull side) be used for htv? Or, just slap 2 designs back to back and use the glue would be a better option? I would appreciate any help, thanks.

Forgive me if I missed it and ask a stupid question. I am wondering about the inside double layer of leatherette. Is it for looks or is the leatherette not strong enough for a single outside layer or another purpose for 2 layers?
@DesignBundles
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Andrea! Not a stupid question at all! The leatherette is very plain on the back side, so I like to make them double sided so they are prettier AND because it makes them sturdier. So you are right on both fronts! Hope this helps! ---Becky

Great video. About how many do you get out of one sheet of leatherette ?
@DesignBundles

Hey Tiffany! The sheets are typically 8" x 10" and I can get typically 8 x 1" strips, but that all depends on the size of the hardware you purchase. Hope this helps! ---Becky

I tried this with the same glue and they were hard/ridged and they separated less than a day later, just sitting on a table. I switched to 1/4” red line tape and they are so soft and supple like leather should be. I am also able to put the sides together before clamping. I totally recommend the tape if you’re having trouble with supergluing.

Why not use heat and bond strips…I ordered some key fobs from a gal and the super glue was all over and some of the side were pulling apart I was not impressed and would thing the heat and bond tape would be a much better option 🤷🏻♀️

Hey Leigh! Thanks for stopping by and watching the video. I understand that this may cause some confusion, but key fob is being used in the crafting community in this way, not just for the electronic key fobs. This is not correct by the technical definition, but it is what it is. Hope to see you on future videos! ---Becky
