HOW TO MAKE ENCLOSURE HOLES FOR ELECTRONICS PLASTIC BOX, PROJECT BOX AND ELECTRONICS CASING.

Ғылым және технология

This is a demo on how to make perfect holes for plastic enclosures used as electronics project box or electronics casing.
In this video, I have two items to be placed on the enclosure. One is the cable gland and the other is the DC jack.

This helped! I was using a 12mm standard drill bit alone and destroyed two enclosures (although they weren't quite like the one you were using, will dig there). Thanks for helping to set me on the right path. :)

Holes are simple. A hundred good ways to do. How about LCD screen cutouts?? That would be useful!!!!

The video skipped the part where he has trouble starting the hole... recommend using a smaller, normal bit to get the hole started. ;-]

Why did you use a step drill instead of a 12mm drill bit?

Yes you can do that. But the plastic fumes will not be good for you and environment. Not recommended.

Yes, you can make a hole with a soldering iron but it will not be as clean as it would be with a drill bit, lots of melted plastic would be around the hole.
