I was so impressed by this video that I ordered the stuff and made it myself. Sadly it will only open simple locks that I could open by raking. The ones with harder springs won’t budge unless I force them down but then the vibration part is ineffective. It’s a shame because I saw one online for 200€ and this is pretty much the same. But I’m glad I didn’t waste 200€ on the expensive one. Nice idea but sadly not very practical for those locks you really want to get into... thanks for the video nonetheless 🙂👍

Not very good, it does ok if the pins are lightly sprung but for most real locks it becomes more of a pick assist as it can help jostle the pins, I am thinking of building another one where the pick is moving more it needs longer & stronger up/down strokes as appose to sonic vibration... I have a real electric pick the toothbrush picks are just a bit of fun....

@@JollyPeanut If you wish. I didnt mean to come off as a super dick but i never heard you explain that you want to make sure you file down or braze your pick fitting so it follows the lateral movement of the mechanism of the brush. Not to mention if your working with some home made .030" pick thats built on with the only option of thinning it out will only fit your basic residential sc1 or kw1. No Schlage Everest, no Primus, no Mul-T-Lock, no ASSA Abloy, no Medeco. If the goal is to pop Master and many American brand locks then with some more firm instruction you could make a great howto and a basic security PSA. Right now i can only imagin teenagers are ruining their tootbrushes to make a pick that will open a GM 10 cut or H75 simply because you're only showing the absolute minimum and dont give the viewer an idea of the limititations. For example you arent getting into any DOMs, any paracentric keyways are out, so lots of weiser and yale etc. And in reality not much of this matters since as far as outdoor storage is concerned, Master runs the show. And boy do those zinc cores melt nicely under a plumbers torch within 40-60sec.

I have made a few videos on DIY electric picks, I make them mostly for my lockpicking friends just a bit of fun i even made a clock work version again just for fun. It would obvious to any one with knowledge of locks and picking that a battery powered toothbrush is going to have its limits, but saying that with a bit of jiggling they do open budget deadbolts that have security pins fairly well...And budget deadbolts are on 80+ percent of American homes "sadly". I have plans for more powerful variations on this idea that may be good for more secure locks i will probably make a video or two on them when i get round to it. I do mention lateral movement in other previous videos so i am not going to keep repeating myself that's just not my style & i am not interested in being an instructor there are lots of folks making good videos on the basics and advanced lock picking bumping bypassing and lots more in a more instructional way... I make what i make like it or not, i am not earning money at this i am not sponsored i buy all locks and tools from my own pocket so i have obvious limits..locks and tools are expensive especially when you get into good security locks like the ones you mentioned. My channel is not just about locks its about whatever i am into at the time so locks is just a part of my channel also i do not not claim to be an expert at anything so its just my take my experience and sometimes my inventions, i do enjoy making tools and doing things like unlocking locks in an unconventional way like popping dimple locks with bobby pins and yes they work very well.. I do like to show how crappy some locks are so i hope i make some folks think about whats on their front door or what padlock or bike lock they are using... So this video has worked for me as it has got some people thinking about their own security who otherwise would remain ignorant on the subject as most folks do until they become a victim of crime... But you do sound like you have a lot of knowledge it would be cool if you would not mind sharing some of it by making a video or two, it is good fun & there are loads of really nice folks out there in the locksport locksmith community and after all KZread is supposed to be about sharing knowledge & experiences freely..Making videos takes more work time & money than most people realize.. I do appreciate your comments it helps remind myself of some of the reasons of why i make videos like this...
