One thing I don't get. You start with a specific length or height of the lamp. later you cut the height on all four sides. Why? Seems it would look better taller or was it unstable?

@@timifriday8038 I think the answer may be that they've made a video on how to do it. If not, I suspect they cut a PVC pipe on it's long axis, then heated it up until soft enough to straighten out. Once it's fairly flat, put something heavy on top until it cools in the new flat shape.
