how to make decorated easter cookies
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video, I explain in detail l how to decorate Easter-themed cookies with royal icing. Here are some amazon links to purchase the tools & supplies I used, these purchases help support my KZread channel.
Cookie cutters (this is the link to the exact cutters the price I saw was very high, you'll find better deals for sure) amzn.to/2whXgrz
Edible markers (not all markers are the same, these are great to write on the cookie to get your guidelines but the line can be a little fat for finishing details on icing such as a smile) amzn.to/39CIqKy
Black pearls (this product is not all the same many tend to bleed into your icing, look for PME brand you'll pay a little more but they won't ruin your cookies with blotching around the pearls) amzn.to/3bCbQdD
White non-pareil sprinkles (these come in many different colors) amzn.to/2USEIs9
Yellow sanding sugar sprinkles: amzn.to/2OQTXy7
Bead tray (to collect sprinkles & facilitate pouring back in the bottle)
Booboo stick amzn.to/2SQY2mW
Tipless piping bags (these bags are NOT good for stiff icing) amzn.to/327vEl3
Food gel: amzn.to/2HroXAM

Keeping me intrigued with this vid. Covid-19 has made baking my #1 priority. Love this video.
i have premade royal icing in white. All you have to do is warm it up and squeeze out the nozzle. I'm going to try it.
I wanted to let you know. I did your Valentine’s Day cookies and they were good. But I keep practicing and the Easter cookies came out even better. 😆 I got the best compliment from my sons girlfriend’s sister. She said there was no way my cookies were made at home. She said they had to come from a bakery. I was so excited. Thank you soooo very much! ☺️☺️

@@CookieSchool I have a 7-year-old grandson who loves to decorate with me. I'm always looking for this kind of cookie. You're amazing!
Great video, thank you. I am new at this,just learning. What consistency of royal icing are you using here ? Thank you
I wanted to ask you since I’ve been having such a blast watching your videos and learning so much from you. Will you be doing a Mother’s Day cookie design video? I know it sounds like a stupid question but I’m a visual kind of learner and if I can watch I can duplicate but I can’t seem to come up with fresh ideas in my mind....lol

You're so right & if you google you'll actually find a peeps cookie cutter set which makes adorable Easter cookies
Muy lindo. Puede usar glasé un poquito más consistente o un deshidratador para que no se hunda el glasé. Pero maravilloso su trabajo.
I am a beginner at cookie decorating and found your Easter cookie video terrific and very helpful. I have a question about your gel colors for these cookies. Did you add a pearl essence of some kind to make the colors look satin-y and appear pearl-like? Or does the electric color set you recommended have this quality? Just beautiful. Thank you for. Motivating and encouraging me! Jean
I did my Valentine’s Day cookies like you did. They came out pretty good. I made my Easter cookies just waiting to pipe the icing cause I’m kinda scared..lol. But I have everything you suggested. I’ll let you know how it works.

Love all the piping but I'm scared what if I don't get it right you make it so easy
I didn't get a chance to see this yesterday, and I'm so glad that I didn't miss it entirely! I LOVE this! This is a fantastic tutorial for beginners, along with some great tips on ways to make them look good even if you are new to cookie making! Almost makes me sorry I don't have Instagram! (Almost. 😉) Two questions: 1) My daughter is allergic to the markers. Would it work to scratch the surface with the scribe tool/toothpick, or is there a food-safe pencil somewhere? 2) How did you get that cute dimple in thw piink in your bunny ears?
@CookieSchool

Hi Camille, Thanks for watching for your daughters allergy to the markers you can scratch the cookie I don't do this because it's harder for you guys to see the guideline in the video. The cute dimple you mention is an icing crater so it's a flaw the icing sank when drying there is no way to get a dimple exactly where you want it lol. Have a great Saturday, Marlyn

I'm glad you enjoy they way I teach, I get ideas from all over there are many pictures on the internet. Yes consistency is hard, just practice it will get easier.
I made some cookies to take to a friend's baby shower, were they perfect no but this literally is my 2nd time decorating cookies but they did turn out cute. You will never learn if u dont at least start. I'm a beginner and icing was everywhere, I didn't mess up the cookies but, I just couldn't tie the bag good enough so it just drip out of the top. Also dose anyone know how to use the tie thing, because I must be using them wrong. Besides the mess, I had fun and they turned out ok.
@CookieSchool
4 жыл бұрын
Thats awesome!! I personally don't use the ties just don't overfill the piping bags & you'll be fine, thanks for sharing your experience.
Have you considered using a spray bottle to add water to the royal icing?
@CookieSchool
2 жыл бұрын
I have, now I use a water bottle with a piping tip on it
So you don’t use two different icing consistencies ? I’ve watched other videos that will use a thicker icing for the outline and then another one that is more runny for the filling
@CookieSchool
4 жыл бұрын
You're right that how many people do it I've figured out how to save a little prep time by only using one icing. If you get the icing to about 20 seconds it can be used to outline.
@JazzyPhay15

I like this way a lot better! That way I’m not having to make double the icing PER color! Love love LOVE this video!

4mm, I listed stuff in description box.
Do you use tap water or distilled water or water that has been filtered? Thank you so much for your videos? I am a beginner and your teaching has helped me so much!
@CookieSchool
4 жыл бұрын
I'm just using regular tap water, nothing special is needed you can also add lemon juice to the icing to punch up the flavour.
How big are the cookie cutters? 3.5 inches?
@CookieSchool
3 жыл бұрын
yeah that's about right, the Wilton sets are never that big
So you outline and flood with the same bag?

Hi Stori, can I ask you if you add the leavening agent (baking powder) if so you should either reduce by half or completely omit this ingredient. The next thing that really makes a difference is baking a frozen cookie, you cut & freeze you shapes & place them in the oven frozen. Try that before trying a new recipe.

@@CookieSchool no I used a recioe that doesnt call for baking powder or soda but did call for cream tarter.
