Nice! We've put a lot of work into this course and we're excited to finally start releasing it to our students!
This course resonates with me so much. My drawings improved so much when I took the time to give them stories and background instead of just being a reference to someone's art. It gave me more ideas for my pieces and that alone will give you endless freedom to create *your own* ...magic!

We make sure that our courses cost less than what it would cost to go to a traditional art school, much less having this many instructors coming together on one course. In that expensive art school environment, you only have those lessons the one time, maybe some handouts, and you have to attend at a certain time to take them. Our courses can be taken any time, rewatched, rewound and are a time-tested great learning resource for our students. This course's windowed exclusivity until 2031 is a first for us because of the big company collaboration. But it's by no means a guaranteed end to the course existing. That's just the current legal mumbo jumbo and can extend beyond that point, when it comes. We hope you do join the course eventually and get to experience the skill and wisdom of all these instructors!

[edit] I think I made a mistake here thinking it was a masterclass course because that ad popped up? Looks like the actual course is $250 on Stan’s site proko. He’s a years long student of Watts Atelier so anyone knowing that should realize how worthwhile this is in combining a course with pro Marvel artists. It’s as close as one can get without the opportunity for apprenticeship. This is the best team up course for comics I’ve seen. I mention Watts because something I think that’s vital to being a great teacher is being able to communicate and understand people psychologically in order to translate instruction into ways different people can understand and Watts has done this well and amazing teachers came from being students there. Obviously Stan being one them.
I would be interested if this could be downloaded. But considering you can't promise this will be available in the future on your site, I would not want to purchase it. I bought the How To Draw Comics Ultra Omnibus bundle instead.
Would you recommend this course to people who never read Marvel comics and know nothing about its universe? I love the art and the storyboarding shown in this video and I'd love to learn more about it. Thank you to you and your team for your incredible work all these years!

I would! While there's Marvel all over it, with Marvel characters and Marvel panel shown, the concepts being taught in this are about all comics. Action-heavy comics, slice of life comics and more. There will be some parts where you hear Jim Zub wax poetic about a certain character but that's just the love of a writer for the characters they're inhabiting while writing. Thanks for enjoying what we make! I hope to see you in the course!
Will you eventually put the marvel way on the channel? When that time comes?

That's not really something that I can decide for you without knowing a whole lot about your hardware, software preference and more. @@ProkoTV Thanks. The Basics course is great. Really really good. It’s filling in a lot of gaps that other teachers just seem to assume you will know without being taught. The only problem with the Basics course is getting feedback, because I only started a few weeks ago, so I’m behind. People don’t seem to comment on the older lessons. Is Anatomy and figure drawing one course? If not, then which comes first?
@ProkoTV
2 ай бұрын
@@emmahamilton1514 You won't be able to get critiques in the video critiques but if you post your work on an assignment with a help request, people will give you notes on your submissions. Anatomy and Figure Drawing are two separate course. They're kind of like a branching path where you choose one or the other to start. Neither needs to come fist. If you want super technical knowledge, anatomy is for you. But if you prefer more free-flowing drawing, Figure Drawing will be better for you.
❤
This must be the old-fashioned traditional way of making comics. The script is all printed and ready to go. The paneling, sketching, inking, coloring, flatting -- all done traditionally. I cannot imagine doing the traditional way. I do own my own art supplies, but my art supplies are for doodling and journaling, not comic-making. I much prefer to work digitally. On my iPhone and iPad, I just use my finger to do a lot of finger-painting. On desktop and laptop, I use my mouse or the laptop's trackpad.
@ProkoTV
11 күн бұрын
Not old-fashioned. Just what this one instructor likes lol Across this course, we feature people who work exclusively digitally, traditionally, and others who work in a hybrid way. The section on covers features 2024 Eisner nominee EM Gist showing working in Procreate as well as doing an oil painting for a cover. We don't want to only cover one way of doing things for a course that covers principles that work for all types of comics-making.

I... don't understand how do people draw that much that well. Maybe I am broken after all. I can't physically get the good. Not even 1% of that good. Years of studies gave me nothing. I don't have a billion years and if I had I'd burn out the first 100 years. After this neverending failure. Seeing all these artworks makes me wanna hang myself. I have 0 chance, no fractions. Maybe I should indeed stop looking at others' art at all. It's literally like looking at birds dreaming of wings I'll never have. It only hurts. I'll yell at whoever says "you just need to practice". 20 fking years. If that practice wasn't enough, maybe it's time for me to go. I'm at point 0 but now I'm old and tired and the world is falling apart around me, filled with idiots and maniacs. Screw this all. Enjoy your godlike skills. That's freaking cheating. No way these people aren't immortals who have spent 20 billion years on their skills. They must have been learning all my life's experience every day. That's impossible! Damn...
