How to make colorful fabric beads (Carnival Beads)
Description
This video demonstrates how to attach fabric strips to wood or other base to use in laser or other designs. I used my glowforge laser cutter to cut the shapes but whatever cutting apparatus you have will work.

    Reneice, that is 2 part resin on those, which really makes them pop. I usually use the uv resin because the 2 part resin takes 12+ hours to cure. I like the results but im usually too impatient to use it. Thanks!

    Hi. I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing. You make it look so easy! I've ordered some Epoxy resin because I have a lot I'd fabric scraps that could be put to good use. I would have liked to see the back of your earrings. Did they get the fabric and resin treatment or were they painted or unfinished?

    I paint the back with colors that compliment the front. I spray a clearcoat over the painted back.

    Lol, the green thing Is something I got from my daughter. She used it to dry baby bottles by turning them upside down and letting them drain on that. I don’t know where she got it from.

    Thanks! I cut the earrings on my Glowforge laser cutter. You need 1/8th inch plywood, modpodge to glue the fabric to the wood and whatever finish you want, either polyurethane or resin.

    Good day!! These are beautiful. If I may ask, did you cover the top side of the fabric with Mod Podge as well as the underside? Also, did you place tape or transfer paper on top before placing in Glowforge? Thank you so much for sharing.

    Thanks, yes, after i laid down all the strips, i went over it all with modpodge and let it dry. I didn’t mask this pattern bectthe scorch marks dont show.     Hi, i used 1/8 inch plywood and i cut it on my Glowforge laser. You could do the same thing on leather or heavy cardboard.

    Hi Rhonda, i have a Glowforge laser cutter that i use to cut the wood. If you don’t have a cut, you can do this same method on thin leather or thick water color paper paper.
